What inspires you and gives you hope? Many of you have asked me where I find inspiration in my work. A few days ago, I spoke about the farmers I've met, the scientists, and the incredible friends and network who, in so many ways, keep my hope alive. This journey requires showing up every day, even as I feel the weight and grief of watching the world I grew up in die in front of our eyes. One person who stands as a beacon of strength and resilience is a man who has dedicated most of his life to sounding the alarm about the mismanagement of our planet’s soils. His commitment to this cause, despite all obstacles, inspires me deeply and reminds me of what true courage looks like. For anyone holding power at COP29 Azerbaijan and who will hold power at the upcoming COP16Riyadh on desertification, Allan Savory's message needs to be heard. Take time to watch is TEDx talk, it will change the way you view the world. #hollisticmanagement #regenerativeagriculture #impactinvesting #climatesmartsolutions https://lnkd.in/fYpuPJp

Dear Mr. @António Guterres, I greatly admire your impactful social work in Portugal, often overlooked (Much respect). However, it appears there's an aspect missing in your list. Now is the time to present concrete #results. 🌱 We need numbers on closed fossil fuels-driven factories, and the alternatives built to people. 🌱 funds allocated by #Northcountries for #LostandDamage, and the percentage invested in vulnerable communities within the climate change context. 🌱 Also, we seek reports on the progress of countries that previously hesitated to sign climate agreements. Are they ready to sign now? Did they work on it or did they close the dossier after November? ✅ While embracing renewable energy, balance is key. Environmental Impact Assessments are non-negotiable for a balanced transition. Please, don't present RE as an escape ticket. 🇨🇻 In Cabo Verde, studies from FAO in Palmeira port on Sal Island predict a 2-meter rise in sea levels by #2050. Additionally, seismic activity on Brava Island, linked to volcanic activity, demands attention. We are having seismic activities almost everyday. 🇬🇼 Guinea-Bissau faces agricultural challenges due to saline intrusion, exemplified by a farmer last week forced to cease operations and they need to burn mangroves every season. The region's medium temperature has risen since 1930. Data from WB showed an increase of 0.93°C until 2022. The shortened rainy season underscored the urgency... ( from 3 months to 2 months). Is GB still tropical or coming to the Sahel group? There are already climate migrants ( that clearly don't want to leave their houses on the islands...) 📏 We urge the presentation of comprehensive reports, shifting the focus to quantitative analysis. 📢 COP is not a stage or a football field; Let's move #beyond agreements and show indicators achieved. #ShowUs the results, because COP is not the World Cup.

Ocean based climate action and solution can deliver up to 35% of the annual GHGs emission reduction needed to limit the global warming to 1.5 degrees by 2050-( oceanpanel) a collective action from the gvernment ,civil society, youth, business owners, and the general public will contribute to everyone the benefits of a healthy ocean. so, lets participate in or organize a wholistic cleanups to maintain the health and beauty of our public places ,kindly if you live by a sea or river volunteer to pick litter, plastic in your local area and from the waterways to prevent them from gettting to the ocean and rivers. and the reason we are emphazing this is to make sure we don't wait for someone to come and save us but rather take that responsibility by ourselves and solve our environmental problems with out depending on others. Reducing our carbon footprint is an essential long-term goal for environmental sustainability. However, this objective might take a backseat if world leadership continues to prioritize the use of deadly force over dialogue and diplomacy in resolving conflicts. The sensitivity around discussing these issues online often leads to a pretense that all is well. If we maintain this course, we risk destroying ourselves through conflict before environmental catastrophes brought on by carbon emissions can impact us. We should talk more about this topic than global warming and net-zero carbon solutions!

Is speaking out on Gaza a distraction from the climate movement’s core mission of fighting climate change? Israel’s war on Palestine has generated intense debate over the extent to which the climate movement, for whom matters of war are typically not a central concern, should become involved in efforts to end it. While one camp argues that taking political positions would deviate them from their fundamental imperative of stopping global warming, the other camp believes that fighting climate change demands addressing underlying political injustice for it to be successful. So how should the climate movement manage this division? "The first thing is to acknowledge that climate action cannot be reduced to simply cutting CO2 emissions; it entails winners and losers, and differing opinions on what constitutes an appropriate response," explains researcher Joost de Moore. President Emmanuel Macron’s statement during his visit to the United States in 2018 cuts to the core of today’s environmental crisis. The conversation has moved beyond questioning the reality of climate change. Now, we are faced with the pressing need to address its devastating consequences. Climate change is an undeniable threat to human life, and the time to act is now. POP Nigeria Initiative, The POP (Protect Our Planet) Movement and other climate organisations have re-echoed this statement times without number, but it seems to be turning to deaf ears. Can we run to Mars after destroying the Earth? We can't wait to find out. Earth was made for man and man for planet Earth. There's no planet B Mitigating CO2 emissions is not a choice—it’s a necessity.
