TrustMark has been working closely in consultation with Scheme Providers to provide an update on PAS2035:2023 Retrofit Design Guidance.   This guidance has been updated to assist the preparation of Retrofit Designs and corresponding documentation, to help comply with the requirements of PAS2035:2023. It has been prepared by ecmk in consultation with TrustMark and other TrustMark Scheme Providers including; Elmhurst Energy, The Installation Assurance Authority (The IAA) and Quidos Ltd. Produced with the support of Nigel S Jones MCIOB Assoc RICS at CoreLogic UK, the PAS2035 Design Best Practice Guide has been created to highlight key areas to follow, to help ensure compliance when working with, and producing retrofit designs. Today we welcome the move by Halifax, Lloyds Banking Group and Bank of Scotland to start incorporating a home’s #EPC in affordability calculations. "Homes with the highest A and B ratings, which currently account for about 15% of UK households, will offer greater affordability", commented, Mark Blackwell, CoreLogic UK's COO. "Those with lower ratings will potentially be incentivised to improve and achieve greater affordability potential. "It’s a very welcome indication to the existing housing market that #energy #performance matters, and we look forward to helping our Surveying and Valuation clients gather the data that matters to lenders and brokers."

The long-awaited but very welcome consultation on #EPCreform is out. Across our business we deliver survey software, support DEAs, run an Accreditation Scheme, work with #EPC data at scale for lenders, local authorities and landlords, and have developed other services such as Ecofurb that help homeowners move on from EPCs to full #retrofit advice. The consultation includes a number of open questions, and with the urgency of our sector's work we are keen to get moving at pace. Last month, CoreLogic employees in the U.K. participated in a global company Hackathon challenge, The Forge! Seven teams collaborated for two days to create innovative solutions for real business challenges. On November 12th, they presented their ideas, competing in four categories: Best Overall, Best Customer Solution, Best Hack, Biggest Market Impact and Best Use of Technology. CoreLogic UK is delighted to announce the appointment of Nigel S Jones as Retrofit Technical Director. Nigel is an Engineering graduate with a background working in various civil engineering and utilities roles in the UK and Overseas for over 20 years and more recently working in the ECO/retrofit industry for the last 15 years. Nigel is also a chartered member of The Chartered Institute of Builders, Registered member of CIOB Conservation Scheme, Associate Member of RICS and a member of AECB CarbonLite. Nigel's prior experience and knowledge will provide valuable retrofit technical, design and training support for CoreLogic, ECMK and their customers in this new role. 👏 #corelogicuk #newappointment #retrofit

The UK faces a critical challenge in housing and climate goals. Since 2008, the workforce for trades in the #retrofit market has fallen by 40%, leaving us with just 150,000 skilled professionals which is far too short of the estimated 208,000 workers needed to meet #netzero targets by 2050. Retrofitting our aging #housing stock is essential, with 16% of the UK’s carbon emissions come from our homes, but without urgent action, we risk falling even further behind.
