About us
Back in 2007, friends James Watt and Martin Dickie from the the North East of Scotland, were bored of the industrially brewed lagers and stuffy ales that dominated the UK market. They decided the best way to fix this undesirable predicament was to brew their own beers. Consequently, BrewDog was born. Two men, one dog & a mission to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as we are is how it all started. 16 years later - +3000 crew mates globally. 4 state of the art breweries - Ellon, Columbus, Berlin & Brisbane. +100 bars. 220,000 Equity Punks. The UK's fastest growing brand and the top craft beer brand in the world. The mission remains. But this is only the beginning.

POKER FACE: A 27% BEER. A few years back, we entered a beer arms race with German brewery Schorschbräu to brew the world’s strongest beer. We beat their record with Tactical Nuclear Penguin. They responded. After several more back and forth records, we collaborated together on Strength in Numbers, a record-breaking 57.8% (yeah, mad) Eisbock beer. We’ve teamed up with Schorschbräu once again for Poker Face, a traditionally brewed 27% Eisbock beer coming in 200ml bottles. Exclusively available to our Equity Punks today and the rest of you tomorrow (13th), or grab a bottle from our bars if you’re quick.

Black Heart: We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again… What if it’s better? The general public loves a Guinness (and rightly so), but could they love a Black Heart even more? Over 600 people took part in the ultimate blind taste test, and the results are in. You don't have to be devout to just one stout any more.

Beer is great, but it’s useless if we don’t have a planet to drink it on. In 2020 we set out our journey to reduce and eventually eliminate our operational carbon emissions. We didn’t quite reach the aggressive target we set, but we always intended to aim high. The result is that we managed to reduce our emissions per HL by a fifth in just 4 years – still a great result, and a great basis for us to build upon.
