We all belong. Today, on the International Day of Disabled People, we are very excited to share with you our bold new strategy. It presents an ambitious vision for the future where all disabled people feel they belong in sports and activities. Alongside our strategy we share new research revealing the incredible social value in disabled people being active – £6,200 per person per year if supported to meet the Chief Medical Officer’s guidelines of 150 plus minutes of exercise per week. The figures show that helping disabled people to take part in even light activity could make a huge difference. Our new strategy sets three ambitions that we know must drive change: - Sports and activities meet disabled people’s needs - Disabled people influence campaigning, policy and decision making - Address inequalities by working with others   In our strategy, Activity Alliance Honorary President Tanni Grey-Thompson, writes: “We all belong in sports and activities. Yet many disabled children and adults don’t feel that they do. At school, in the local park or working out in a nearby gym, we all have the right to welcoming, inclusive, and accessible opportunities. “The reality is that society remains an unfair and unjust place for many disabled people. Every single day there are stories up and down our country of disabled children and adults missing out on the joy that being active can bring. Invitation to tender: customer service eLearning content update. We are looking to update our popular ‘Delivering an excellent service for disabled customers’ eLearning module. We also want to add to our training with a new specific version ideal for people who work outside of leisure. We want to increase opportunities for disabled people in sport and fitness. On our website we have a 'jobs board' that lists paid and voluntary opportunities across organisations that focus on sport, leisure and fitness. It's been a really fantastic week here at Activity Alliance.
