Columbia Threadneedle Foundation works with inspiring charity partners to improve individual lives while also driving long-term social change through the power of art, sport and education as catalysts for transformation. In 2024, the Foundation continued supporting its long-term charity partners Clean Break Theatre Company, Access Sport, The National Gallery, Bounce Back Project and AT The Bus helping them to deliver their vital work. In addition, Columbia Threadneedle awarded a number of grants to support charities within the communities in which we live and work. Our employees also played an important role, dedicating their time and skills to volunteer for worthwhile causes. https://bit.ly/4fuxikp

Our Breaking Barriers film has been shortlisted for the Smiley Charity Film Awards! Created earlier this year, this film was part of our Breaking Barriers Report which we launched alongside The Sweaty Betty Foundation, Women in Sport and Nuffield Health. Through this film and the wider report, we hoped to create a tangible, positive difference in the lives of disabled teenage girls across the country. It’s concerning that young people's activity levels have stagnated over the last three years, with only 48 percent participating in an average of 60 minutes or more of sport and physical activity every day. It is also saddening to see that young people are less happy, resilient and trusting than they were in 2017. These findings reiterate that the status quo is not working! It’s time to be more ambitious for the young people we say we want to support and to focus on action not words. As a sector, we must collaborate, break down barriers, and invest in developing new inclusive activities that support all young people to experience the life-changing benefits of being active. Head to our website to learn more about how we are working, with sector partners, to make inclusion the norm in community sport ➡️ www.AccessSport.org.uk/ #StandForInclusion
Our latest Active Lives Children and Young People Survey results have been published 📣 The report shows that children’s activity levels have remained stable across the 2023-24 academic year, but the long-term impact of the coronavirus pandemic and stark inequalities remain. Sport England’s Chief Strategy Officer, Nick Pontefract, explores the key headlines. Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/eWDCudDP #SportEngland | #ActiveLives

“It’s great to see people that don’t usually have access sport being able to participate in activities and get all the benefits of sports” Our biggest winter Ignite multi-sports festival yet! Last week we hosted an inspiring multi-sport festival in Bristol to engage disabled young people in community sport. With over 75 people attending with their friends and family, it was inspiring to see so many disabled young people socialising and enjoying community sport – some for the first time!
