The Consulting Report cited a growing demand for governments to adopt a more proactive stance in reforming social and economic support systems, addressing the changing requirements of their citizens. To address this demand, government agencies must swiftly acquire new skills, novel approaches, and adapt to a changing landscape. Consultants, who possess a deep understanding of government operations and relevant public sector expertise, play a pivotal role in this essential transformation.
The recipients of this year's awards have rightfully earned their places on our list due to their exceptional expertise and unwavering commitment to innovation within various domains, including modernizing IT infrastructure and workflows, transforming financial management practices, designing growth strategies, and numerous other specialties.
Among this year's recipients of awards are distinguished professionals. Brenda Walker, the Global Government Sector Head at KPMG, stands out as a remarkable leader with over three decades of experience. She has not only overseen one of the largest sectors within KPMG but has also been at the helm of the expansive KPMG Women's Network.
Vincent Chin, recognized for his exceptional contributions, is the Global Vice Chair of BCG's Public Sector practice and concurrently holds the position of Asia Pacific Leader for the Social Impact Practice within the firm. This is the 2nd consecutive year Vincent Chin has been named to this list. He embodies three fundamental qualities that make him one of the most impactful consultants working with governments:
First, Chin is a bold, visionary thinker fusing his experiences in formulating and enacting breakthrough models in public, private, and social sectors. He has the courage, conviction, and charisma to put the most difficult challenges to the client, thereby ensuring they go beyond the incremental in their solutions. Second, with a background in eastern philosophies, Chin preternaturally understands the full context of his clients and therefore shapes the right answers, taking into account their constraints and conflicts rather than foisting a “best practice” answer from elsewhere. Thirdly, together with the full strength of BCG’s industry sectors and functional expertise, Chin and the team design solutions to impact at scale rather than to plan, guided by proven principles of “Thinking Big, Starting Small & Scaling Fast.”
Chin is now the Global Vice Chair of BCG’s Public Sector Practice. He is based out of Singapore and devotes much of his time to helping developing countries and the disadvantaged segments of society so that no one is left behind. -
