Tom Holland Confirms Spider-Man 4 Begins Filming in Summer 2025: 'I Can't Wait'

"Everything's good to go," the actor said of the next 'Spider-Man' movie, a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster 'No Way Home'

Tom Holland has confirmed it: Spider-Man 4 begins filming next year.

During the star's Oct. 22 appearance on The Tonight Show, host Jimmy Fallon asked Holland, 28, about rumors that his long-awaited fourth Spider-Man film may finally be entering production soon, to which Holland at first replied, "What do you want to know?"

"It's happening," Holland clarified, as Fallon rose from his desk to embrace the actor and celebrated the news. "Next summer, we start shooting, everything's good to go. We're nearly there," he added. "Super exciting. Yeah, I can't wait."

The next Spider-Man movie is a sequel to 2021's No Way Home, in which Holland famously teamed up with former live-action Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in a film that celebrated the two-decade history of Spider-Man movies.

Since then, updates on a fourth movie have been few and far between, though Holland and studio executives remained insistent a sequel would be made.

Holland's announcement also comes after reports that he is in talks to star in director Christopher Nolan's next movie, which is scheduled for release in July 2026. Universal Pictures, which will distribute that film, had no comment regarding reports of Holland's casting; multiple outlets indicated Nolan will begin filming his next movie, which also reportedly stars Matt Damon, in early 2025.

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have not yet formally announced Spider-Man 4, and it's unclear whether Holland's costar and real-life girlfriend Zendaya will reprise her role as Michelle "M.J." Jones for the next movie.

However, Holland recently said during an Oct. 17 podcast appearance that he and Zendaya, 28, recently read a pitch and a draft of a script for his next turn as Peter Parker.

"There's a few things we need to figure out before we can get that really going, but it's exciting," he said. "And I'm really, really excited about it."
