People Editorial Guidelines Published on December 13, 2017 12:00PM EST Kelsea Ballerini called “Dibs” on multiple stunning looks for her wedding weekend! The country princess and fellow Nashville crooner Morgan Evans tied the knot Dec. 2 in Cabo San Lucas, and PEOPLE has all the exclusive details and photos from their oceanside ceremony. Going into her wedding day, Ballerini settled on three separate outfit changes — “because duh!” she jokes. For her ceremony on the beach, the bride went barefoot as she walked down the aisle in a flowing Berta gown — complete with a cleavage-baring, lace bodice and high slit — and at the altar, she and Evans exchanged David Yurman rings (a diamond “Love” band for her, black titanium for him). Her bridesmaids and Mom of Honor, Carla Denham, wore assorted pastel dresses by Monique Lhuillier from Vow To Be Chic and accessorized with David Yurman rings and earrings; while the groom, his groomsmen and best man (his brother Tom) rocked tan suits from Joseph Abboud. After saying “I do” — and sealing the deal with a tequila toast — Ballerini slipped into Stuart Weitzman heels and a Grace Loves Lace number, which ended up doubling as a swimsuit when she and their remaining guests wound down the night with an impromptu, fully clothed plunge into the pool. Then, for the “after-hang,” the Grammy nominee donned a Tadashi Shoji jumpsuit. As for her hair, Ballerini’s glam artist Kelsey Deenihan recreated her wavy tresses from the music video for her latest hit “Legends.” “When I saw that music video I was like, ‘That’s my wedding hair,'” she says. “I just wanted the whole look to not be overly done; I really want it to be natural and just simple and classic — where we can look at the pictures in 30 years and be like, that’s still not too crazy-looking. So, it was just long and beach-wavy.” For much more on Morgan Evans and Kelsea Ballerini’s wedding, including more exclusive photos, pick up the latest issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands everywhere Friday. How She Said Yes to the Dress Like many millennials, the 24-year-old “Peter Pan” singer turned to social media for inspiration. “I had no idea what I wanted for a wedding dress; I just never really thought about it,” she recalls. “So, I was scrolling through Instagram one day, which is a lot of the times how I found my award show dresses. I saw a picture of this dress, and I immediately was like, ‘I think that’s my dress.’ I sent it to my stylist, like, ‘Can you get this? Can I try it on?'” A couple of months later, Ballerini had yet to find a gown and was thinking, “Am I going to have a fitting soon? I probably should pick a dress, the wedding is really soon…” Not long after, Ballerini’s stylist, Krista Roser, and her mother surprised her with a Say Yes to the Dress-themed dress fitting at a bridal boutique in Nashville. Blythe Thomas “When I walked in the door and I saw a rack of dresses and all of my girls, I bawled,” she says. “I didn’t think I was going to be that girl. But, I am!” At the fitting, Ballerini modeled seven or eight dressed before trying on the Berta gown she’d found online. “I put it on and I was so happy because I knew it was the dress,” she says. “I walked out, and we’d turned on [‘Marry You’], and me and all the girls just popped a bottle of champagne and danced to Bruno Mars, in the dress. That was the perfect first memory of me in that dress to set the tone for getting to marry him in it.” Joseph Llanes Dressing for Her Man Before, when Ballerini — who released her sophomore album Unapologetically in November — was contemplating what to wear, she considered two things: the setting and her groom, who proposed on Christmas Day 2016 after meeting nine months earlier. “I asked Morgan, ‘When you close your eyes and picture our day, what do you picture me in?’ He was like, ‘Something that you wouldn’t wear when you’re in total artist mode,” recalls Ballerini, who says that ruled out anything, “too poofy, not too sparkly because those are my two things that I always wear to red carpets.” Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans. Once she found her gown, she made some alterations to accommodate the beach backdrop, “making it even thinner on the bottom, so the wind from the beach could pick it up,” Ballerini says of the ceremony look. “It’s just simple and classic and beautiful.” Her planning paid off, as Morgans, 32, says his favorite memory from their wedding day was watching his bride walk down the aisle. “I watched the most beautiful girl in the world get better looking with every step,” says the “Kiss Somebody” singer, “and then I got to marry her!” Close
