Chris Evans is sporting a new look!

The Captain America star attended the Red One premiere on Monday, Nov. 11, where he showed off his scruffy beard that he's been rocking as of late. The film about "saving Christmas" stars Evans, 43, with Dwayne Johnson, Kiernan Shipka and Lucy Liu, who were also in attendance.

Evans' new grown-out beard is a change from his go-to stubble and reminiscent of his Avengers: Infinity War days. He kept the rest of his look simple for the premiere with a black top, gold pendant necklace and glasses.

In an interview at the premiere with Entertainment Tonight, the former PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive explained that his style change is for a new role.

"A job I'm working on," Evans said when asked what was up with his beard. "It's a film called Sacrifice, with Anya Taylor-[Joy], John Malkovich."

The movie is about "a star-studded charity event [that] turns chaotic when a radical group crashes it, seeking a mystical artifact tied to an ancient prophecy," an official synopsis reads. Sacrifice will also feature Salma Hayek, Charlie xcx and Yung Lean, and although no release date has been set thus far, filming is underway in Europe, according to Deadline.

Evans previously made headlines for his facial hair in February 2019 when Entertainment Tonight Canada tweeted out a photo of his mustache.

"This is clearly an act of aggression," Evans replied in a tweet, trolling the outlet. "There are literally hundreds of photos to choose from. What did I ever do to you, Canada?"

Netflix Canada later tried to remedy the error by sharing a thread of "hot Chris Evans photos" — "on behalf of all Canadians."
