People Editorial Guidelines Updated on November 13, 2024 12:08AM EST Comments John Krasinski has been crowned PEOPLE’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive — with some help from Stephen Colbert! The big reveal happened on the Tuesday, Nov. 12 episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where the host kicked off the segment by throwing it back to two previous recipients. "In recent years I have had the tremendous honor of announcing Paul Rudd and Chris Evans for their terms as PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive," said Colbert, 60. "So it's safe to say that no man can become the Sexiest until he passes through these lips." John Krasinski and Stephen Colbert. Scott Kowalchyk/CBS After announcing Krasinski, 45, as this year's champ, Colbert wished "a sexy congrats to the very sexy John Krasexski." Then out popped the Quiet Place star from behind the stage to accept the honor, looking very much the part in a gray fitted suit. What followed was a hilarious '80s-themed infomercial for "6 Simple Steps to Sexiness," in which Krasinski taught Colbert how to become PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive. "Other than maybe I'm being punked," he added. "That's not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I'll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it.
