The 34-year-old actress arrived in a Christian Siriano design that was part tuxedo, part gown and part purple. The dress half of Brooks' look featured an ombré purple hem, which appeared to be a homage to her film The Color Purple. Brooks wore open-toe $120 ALDO heels, jewels from Kendra Scott (including a selection of 14K yellow gold rings in white and black diamond and pair of 14K yellow gold pave diamond studs) and some special bling from her husband, Dennis Gelin, Brooks revealed while chatting with Laverne Cox on E!'s red carpet pre-show. Tonight, Brooks is nominated for outstanding performance by a female actor in a supporting role for her work in The Color Purple, which was produced by Oprah Winfrey. Her role as Sofia in the movie musical has made her an awards season regular this year, and in March, she'll be up for an Oscar for her unforgettable performance.
