Danielle Brooks made an unforgettable entrance on the red carpet at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards

The best supporting actress nominee for The Color Purple rocked her version of the "balletcore" trend in a dreamy pink tulle Monsoori gown with an dramatic black satin bow. She accessorized with jewels by Norman Silverman and Graziela Gems and her hair was styled in a flippy bob (which happens to be the "it" look in Hollywood right now).

Brooks posted a photo of the look on Instagram along with the caption, "Babydoll status." She also tagged the squad who put her look together: stylist Jennifer Austin, hairstylist Tish Celestine, makeup artist Rebekah Aladdin and more.

Brooks, who played Sofia in the Broadway musical version in 2015, reprised the role for the big-screen adaptation. Brooks told PEOPLE in 2022 that despite her previous experience playing the character, she "had to work hard" to get cast in the new movie.

Still, the opportunity, she says, was a "dream come true."

This look is the latest in Brooks’s month-long parade of amazing outfits.

Brooks wore a purple gown for the first time since the movie’s Los Angeles premiere to the 14th Annual Governors Awards in L.A. on Jan. 9. The design was sheer, had long sleeves and sparkled all over.

The 2024 Golden Globe Awards nominee was on-trend in the color of the night, red, at the ceremony. On Instagram, she appropriately captioned a behind the scenes snap of her strapless, fit-and-flare design “Haute” with a few siren and fire emojis.

Brooks also showcased her love of chic pantsuits on the promo tour. At the Astra Film Awards on Jan. 6 (below, right), she rocked a black suit that featured a draped blush tulle detail on the blazer and black boots with a bold silver buckle to receive the Breakthrough Award.

Meanwhile, she picked up the Spotlight Award at the 2024 Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards on Jan. 4 (below, left) wearing a white blazer and pants and PVC heels. “I think this is another moment where I need to pinch myself,” she wrote on Instagram. “This is starting to get pretty cool.”

For the Los Angeles premiere, Brooks paid tribute to The Color Purple in an amethyst gown with a hood, embellished top and draped bottom with a thigh-high slit that showed off her silver sandals. “Can’t believe last night was not a dream,” she wrote of the experience on Instagram.

On Dec. 3, the star wore back-to-back classic looks. To the Black Excellence Brunch Celebrates The Color Purple, she chose a bridal-inspired design and silver platform sandals (below, left) — and added a pop of purple with her hair accessory and clutch.

Later that day, she attended the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala in a sheer black ball gown with a ruffle neckline (below, right).

Brooks first wore purple in celebration of the film on Oct. 12 to the Ghetto FIlm School fall benefit, where she was honored alongside Quinta Brunson and Sandra Oh. “Purple Sunshine” she captioned bts images of her look, an electric purple turtleneck dress with a graphic print.

In another post, she thanked the GFS for the recognition: “Look forward to the day I cross paths with some of your students in a professional capacity. What a great organization.”
