Rumor Renée Zellweger Is Wary of Ant Anstead's Newly Single Ex Christina Hall Is 'Laughable:' Source (Exclusive)

Things have not changed between Ant Anstead and Renée Zellweger amid his ex Christina Hall's recent divorce news.

A source tells PEOPLE that a rumor that Zellweger, 55, Anstead's girlfriend of over three years, is worried about her relationship with the Radford Reborn host, 45, is "totally laughable."

Anstead was previously married to the HGTV star, 41, from 2018 until they finalized their divorce in 2021. They share a son, Hudson, 4. The exes went through a contentious custody battle following the end of their relationship and their rift regularly played out in the public eye. They now share joint custody of Hudson.

Christina is newly single after her third husband, Josh Hall, filed for divorce in July, citing "irreconcilable differences," according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

In the wake of the split, Christina re-followed Anstead on Instagram and liked a photo of their son, seemingly extending a social media olive branch to her ex.

Christina also responded to a fan's comment that mentioned Anstead last week.

After Josh's apparent exit from Christina's upcoming new HGTV show, The Flip Off, a follower suggested she have Anstead replace him. The star replied, “LOL that would be a genius 'ratings' idea just sayin.”

She later set the record straight, on Wednesday, Aug. 1, telling ET, “It would be good for ratings, but I can’t work with any more exes. I already work with Tarek.”

Christina's first husband, Tarek El Moussa, 42, and Tarek's new wife, Heather, 36, are set to co-star on the house flipping showdown, which will premiere in 2025. The premise of the competition was originally couple vs. couple, so Christina is seemingly in need of a new teammate. HGTV has not yet confirmed the status of Josh's involvement in the show.

Zellweger and Anstead, who first met on the set of his discovery+ show Celebrity IOU Joyride, have been dating since June 2021.

They keep their relationship private for the most part, but Anstead has been known to give nods to his partner on social media, including things like a Christmas ornament with her name on it or a glimpse of the actress's signature orange baseball cap in his posts.

In April, 2023, PEOPLE confirmed the pair had moved in together after finding a home "they both love" in Orange County, Calif.

"They are very happy and in love. They have tried to keep their relationship private and low-key because of Hudson," a source told PEOPLE at the time.

In April 2024, an insider told PEOPLE that Anstead would temporarily relocate to his native London as the actress filmed the upcoming fourth Bridget Jones movie.

"Ant is going over to the U.K. with Renée while she is filming [Bridge Jones's Diary 4] later this year. Ant is excited to spend time with his older kiddos," said the insider, referring to Ant's older children from his first marriage — daughter Amelie, 20, and son Archie, 17.

Anstead confirmed he was in the U.K. in May when he shared a photo of himself on Instagram with a caption that read, "A happy place," with a heart and Union Jack flag.

A month later, he showed himself traveling back to London with Hudson, whom he continues to share joint physical and legal custody of with Hall.

Anstead and Hall tied the knot in a surprise backyard wedding in December 2018 before calling things off in September 2020. 

Hall was first married to her Flip or Flop co-star, Tarek, from 2009 to 2016. They finalized their divorce in January 2018 and share a daughter, Taylor, 13, and a son, Brayden, 8.
