Happy birthday, Emma Stone!

From hitting the big screen in Kinds of Kindness to receiving her second Academy Award, the actress, who turns 36 on Nov. 6, had a huge year — and husband Dave McCary was by her side every step of the way.

Though Stone and McCary, 39, don't make many public appearances — besides the occasional baseball game for the Sad Diego Padres superfans — the actress always thanks her longtime love while accepting awards, giving fans a rare glimpse into the private couple’s life together.

While accepting the Golden Globe for best film actress in a comedy or musical for her work in Poor Things in January, she dedicated the award to McCary — and mentioned him first in her speech.

"This is amazing, thank you. Dave, I have to start with you really quickly," she said at the ceremony. "I love you very much. Thank you for everything!"

Later this year, as Stone took home a Best Actress Oscar for her role in the Yorgos Lanthimos-directed film — her second career Academy Award — she was quick to thank not only her husband, but also their 3-year-old daughter, Louise Jean McCary.

After thanking the Poor Things cast and crew, the actress said, "I know I have to wrap up, but I really just want to thank my family. My mom, my brother Spencer, my dad, my husband Dave, I love you so much."

"And, most importantly, my daughter, who's gonna be 3 in three days and has turned our lives technicolor," the star added before addressing Louise with a quote from pal Taylor Swift's song "Bigger Than the Whole Sky."

"I love you bigger than the whole sky, my girl,” she told the toddler.

The longtime couple — who also shared a rare PDA moment after the 2024 Oscars — first met while Stone hosted Saturday Night Live an episode of in December 2016.

A source later confirmed to PEOPLE in October 2017 that the actress and McCary, who was a writer on the show at the time, were officially dating. The couple made their award show debut at the 2019 SAG Awards and later tied the knot in September 2020.

The following March, the pair welcomed Louise. Shortly after she was born, a source told PEOPLE that Stone was thrilled to be a mom

"Emma and Dave have a great marriage and both wanted a child," a source close to Stone told PEOPLE at the time. "They are a very grounded and private couple and were ready for a family."

The Oscar winner “is close to her family and good friends but not the type to flaunt her personal life," added the Stone source. "Dave respects that about her and is the same way. They have a great life together and support each other.”

Just before saying “I do,” the pair also went into business together, starting their own production company in August 2020. The company, called Fruit Tree, has since produced movies like Problemista, I Saw the TV Glow and A Real Pain, which is playing in theaters.

Now, the couple is also in talks to take their professional relationship to the next level, teaming up with Universal for a new, McCary-directed project starring Stone, The Hollywood Reporter reported in April.

The move makes sense for the duo, whose strength as a couple — both in and outside of their work lives — lies in their ability to let each other shine, an industry source previously told PEOPLE.

"She is professional in every way, very talented and focused on her work, and Dave respects that," the source said of Stone in 2019. "He totally supports her and is unselfish in his desire for her success. Those are great qualities in a man for someone like Emma.”
