And the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who celebrated her 60th birthday in July, says she’s only getting started. “It was really my leaving the show,” she tells PEOPLE exclusively. “About three weeks later, I got a call from my publicist, saying, ‘Kenzo wants you to go to Paris in four days. Would you be able to?’ and I went, 'Yeah.' I just said yes and I did it.” Immediately, the Rinna Beauty founder started to make headlines for her bold fashion looks. Since, she's been a fixture in magazine and at Fashion Weeks around the globe. You can still try different looks with fashion and be cool. I think that's what makes me feel the most confident.” Rinna took her own advice to heart and tried a new hair look during Paris Fashion Week in September, transforming her usual spiky bob into a slicked-back Mohawk. “I did this first on Watch What Happens Live in [September 2022]. And then when I went to Paris, we did it for the Mugler show. We do different versions of it now because I like it.” Claudio Lavenia/Getty However, Rinna’s hair wasn’t the only fashion statement she made in Paris. The actress was the center of attention at shows ranging from Rabanne to Victoria Beckham thanks to her chic and daring looks — many of which she added the final touch on herself. For her Rabanne look, Rinna accessorized her purple dress with red Gucci statement glasses she bought that same day. And for the Nina Ricci show, she DIY-ed the look at the last minute, too. However, during her fitting the day before the show, the pants were about six inches too long and needed to be altered. The next day, when the seamstress arrived with the fixed pants, Rinna opened up the bag to discover the job had not been done properly. “I'm thinking, ‘Oh my God. I've got to go to the show. They're expecting me. Harris Reed, it's his design. But what do I do?’” she says. “It's the middle of the night in LA. [My stylist] Danyul [Brown] is awake a lot of the time, but this time I know he's sleeping.” When Brown did wake up, he suggested she ditch the pants entirely and pair the suit jacket with fishnets she already had prepared for the Victoria Beckham show. At the last minute, Rinna did just that. “It was one of those moments where the mishap worked out in the end,” she reflects. “And it made the whole look, I think.” Rinna has also been busy expanding her beauty line, Rinna Beauty, with products ranging from her signature lip gloss — Pink Champagne, $20 (which is her favorite) — to eye kits which are available in three options: the Better Naked Iconic Eye Kit, Smoke Show Iconic Eye Kit and Be Extra Iconic Eye Kit, all for $59. They come with a shadow palette, mascara, a crayon and a two-sided applicator brush. If you want to go to the disco or dancing, you’re set.” For Rinna, mixing and matching makeup looks and trying on bold new outfits is just a part of who she is. “I'm not afraid to take risks. I love fashion so much,” she says. “I feel so honored to get to wear these designers that I'm not afraid to go for it.” Close
