Snoop Dogg is a devout family man, but one thing he's learned is when to involve his family in his endeavors and when to keep them out.

The rap legend launched a new fine jewelry collection in collaboration with Metal Alchemist and gamma. and as with a lot of his work, his family is at the heart of it all.

And while his wife, kids, and grandkids are part of the inspiration behind the line, the "Drop It Like It's Hot" hitmaker said they were nowhere near the creation of the actual pieces.

"They don't need to get an opinion in because then we would never get the line out," he joked to reporters while at the Lovechild launch held at Passes in Hollywood, Calif., on Nov. 13.

"Too many motherf---ing chefs in the kitchen ... This is a partnership, so my family's energy is me. I bring their energy to the table. I know what my wife, kids, grandkids [want]. I'm a representation of them because I'm the king of the family. So it's my job to make sure that it's represented the right way," he explained.

The collection consists of 45 pieces that represent Snoop and his family. "When we represent the queen, hers is the way that she loves it, when we represent the prince, baby boy likes that, when we represent the princess, baby girl likes that. The grandkids, they're gonna be cool with it," he joked, alluding to the fact that his grandkids, all under 10, will be OK with whatever they get.

He continued, "It's more about me, drawing my energy and bringing it to the table so that we don't have so many people in the kitchen cooking. That's when the meal gets thrown off — when everybody wants to put something on the grill. We got steaks on the grill and somebody wants to put a wiener on there, it's not gonna add up."

Lovechild is hardly the only project Snoop Dogg has been working on. Earlier this month, the Doggfather himself released "Gorgeous," the first track off his forthcoming album Missionary, featuring vocals from Jhené Aiko and production from Dr. Dre.

The song was accompanied by a corresponding lyric video, as well as the official track list for the Dr. Dre-produced album — featuring several collaborators including Eminem50 Cent, Jelly Roll, Sting, K.A.A.N., Method Man and more.

Missionary marks the first time Dr. Dre and Snoop have worked together on a full-length body of work since his 1993 debut LP Doggystyle. The upcoming album will be released on Dec. 13 via Death Row, Aftermath and Interscope.
