Kristen Doute is offering a surprising update on her friendship with Stassi Schroeder.

In an Oct. 4 episode of Balancing Act with Doute and her fiancé Luke Broderick, the reality star revealed where she stands with her former Vanderpump Rules costar. Explaining that the two have grown apart recently, Doute said Schroeder never congratulated her on her engagement.

“I have not heard from Stassi,” she said. “I think the last time I heard from Stassi would have been on her anniversary when I wished her a happy anniversary and we exchanged some kind words. That’s kind of it.”

The pair have been friends for more than ten years, previously starring on VPR before being fired in 2020 for past racially insensitive comments.

Doute said that “I’m okay with” the fact that she and Schroeder have drifted apart, and had nothing bad to say about her. "I have a lot of love for her and for her family,” the host continued. “I’ve said that a million times. That’s never going to change for me. We have a lot of history and she used to be like a sister to me.”

“I just wish her the best," Doute added. "Sometimes friendships don’t last. That’s it. People just grow apart.”

Although Doute and Broderick started dating in 2022, Broderick also revealed he has “never met” Schroeder.

Broderick proposed to Doute on Sept. 4 while cameras rolled on the next season of The Valley. Doute announced the news in a sweet Instagram post featuring photos of the two on a boat.

“I’m wrapped around your finger like this ring I’m wearing 💍 🤟🏽 out of the all the fish in the sea, you chose me 🥹,” she captioned it.

Her Bravo family took to the comments to celebrate her, with Brittany Cartwright writing, “🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 So happy for you love you so much! ❤️❤️”

“This is EXCITING!!! We need some good news and this is great!!!” Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen wrote.

Ariana Madix, who is still on VPR, also commented: “congratulations 🥹🥹🥹💖💖💖 so happy for both of you 🫶🏼🫶🏼”

Both Schroeder and Doute have made their returns to reality TV following their VPR exits, but not together. Doute appeared on the inaugural season of The Valley alongside former VPR castmates Cartwright and Jax Taylor, while Schroeder is slated to be on season 2 of Vanderpump Villa.

Lisa Vanderpump announced Schroeder's casting news in an Aug. 9 Instagram post, where she teased the upcoming season while holding a glass of champagne.

“Well hello there, I want to welcome you back to Vanderpump Villa season 2,” she began. “Now, I am sitting here and I'm thinking, ‘What should I put on the menu?’ Any ideas?”

The camera then panned to another person seated at the table: Schroeder!

“Lisa, obviously goat cheese balls,” she replied, referring to the popular appetizer she used to love when she worked at Sur (the restaurant where Vanderpump Rules originated back in 2013).

“Excellent idea, cheers!" Vanderpump said. “Welcome back, darling!”
