Kesha Co-Signs Sabrina Carpenter's 'Please Please Please' in New TikTok Video: 'Proud to Be a Woman in Music'

Kesha is thoroughly enjoying the women in music takeover happening this year

In a TikTok video posted on Sunday, July 7, the “Blow” artist, 37, told her followers, “The ladies are holding it down with new music this summer,” as she gave a subtle co-sign to another fellow female artist: Sabrina Carpenter. 

Kesha set her TikTok video to the tune of the 25-year-old pop star’s latest single, “Please Please Please,” as she vibed out to the track while fixing her hair and makeup in the camera. She captioned the clip, “Proud to be a woman in music.” 

Carpenter isn’t the only breakout star Kesha has publicly supported this year. On April 14, the pop singer made a surprise appearance during Reneé Rapp's Coachella performance, where the two performed a slightly updated version of her 2010 smash hit "TiK ToK." 

Kesha also posted a sweet backstage TikTok video days after soundtracked to a sped-up version of Rapp's “Not My Fault” single featuring Megan Thee Stallion. 

In 2023, Rapp spoke to Teen Vogue about how much of an impact Kesha had on her outside of music, saying, "She was my everything growing up.”

"She's just so… not ‘wild’ in the sense that she's wild… she was so wild and free-spirited and hot, and seemed sure of herself,” the Mean Girls: The Musical star explained, “but was also really vulnerable and outspoken. And also was just the sickest."

The Snow Angel artist also said that she admired the music veteran for being a "version of a woman in pop music that I love,” noting that the latter’s “Your Love Is My Drug” hit would be among the "top two songs" on a playlist of her life.

Kesha recently rejoined her fellow women in music on July 4 with the release of her new single, “Joyride” — her first since parting ways with RCA Records and Vector Management and settling her years-long legal battle with producer Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald in June 2023.

Ahead of the song’s arrival, the independent artist celebrated the huge occasion by writing on X (formerly Twitter), “i couldn’t have made it through without all of you. now we joyride.”

Days later, Kesha expressed more gratitude for her new musical chapter in an Instagram post captioned, “7 years ago today. as i race like a madman into this iconic chapter of my life, i can’t help but appreciate how hard this joy has been fought for. thank you to all the animals who had my back then💕 i love u praying.”

She added to herself, “you’re a bad strong resilient bitch. i’m proud of you.”
