Kenya Moore Takes 'Full Accountability' for Incident That Led to RHOA Exit in Tearful Interview: 'I Am Sorry'

In June, PEOPLE confirmed that Moore wouldn't be returning to the series after she allegedly exposed explicit pictures of new cast member Brittany Eady

Kenya Moore is breaking her silence and taking full responsibility for her actions.

During a Nov. 14 appearance on Tamron Hall, the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, 53, addressed her unceremonious exit from the hit Bravo show after she allegedly exposed explicit pictures of new cast member Brittany Eady while filming.

"Hindsight is always fifty, fifty," she began. "If I could do it all over again, I believe the photos were very distasteful, and I elevated the situation. I've elevated situations before, and I've taken full accountability for the things that I've done."

Moore expressed how "sorry" she was for what she'd done, adding that, "I didn't have to take it that far."

She continued, "But when I felt threatened, I've never had a child in a situation like this before. So, that's why it escalated to the point where I was protecting not only myself, but my child."

On June 25, PEOPLE confirmed that Moore wouldn't be returning to the series. News of the reality star's departure from RHOA came after she was suspended indefinitely from filming for allegedly unveiling the NSFW photos.

The pictures — which sources previously told PEOPLE that were shown while the Bravo cameras were rolling on Thursday, June 6 at the grand opening of her new Kenya Moore Hair Spa — showed Eady performing oral sex on an unnamed male. Eady was not in attendance at the spa when the snapshots were revealed.

At the time, an insider told PEOPLE that Moore was retaliating after Eady allegedly threatened her costar using the word “gun." However, a second source close to production disputed that, saying, “At no time was Kenya ever threatened with a weapon, nor was there ever a weapon present during the course of production."

While she is no longer filming the season with her fellow housewives, the Bravolebrity confirmed that she was "still under contract" and remains "an employee of the network on Tamron Hall.

When it comes to her return, Moore said she'd "had some conversations" and named Housewives head honcho, Andy Cohen, as being a part of her "great support system" throughout the ordeal.

"He has called, he has checked on me, he has given me advice. And I feel like he's a really good friend and I just appreciate the support," she said of Cohen and the network. "That was my family for 12 years. I love them and I feel like they love me, it was just a really unfortunate situation."

Now, Moore is focusing on other ventures, including a children's book titled, Brooklyn Bound: Paris, which she co-wrote with her daughter Brooklyn Daly, 6, adding that her little one was "everything that's important" in her life.

"Forget about the turmoils in life. Forget about the challenges, because we will all eventually overcome but this is what my life was supposed to be like," Moore said of being a mother. "I don't know what it would be like without her."

Earlier this month, the reality star told PEOPLE how "proud" she was to have penned the book with her daughter.

"Part of being a mother is you always want to give your child opportunities that you never had," she explained. "And for her to have this accomplishment as part of her legacy already, it's just a reminder that there are so many things in the future coming her way that are beyond what we can even imagine."
