Kathy Hilton Gives Update on Kyle Richards amid Mauricio Umansky Split: 'She's Just Taking Her Time' (Exclusive)

According to Kathy Hilton, Kyle Richards isn't in any rush to get back into the dating scene.

In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE, the mother of Nicky and Paris Hilton, 65, gave an update on her sister's dating life since announcing her separation from her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky.

"I think she's just taking her time. We just wrapped a month ago, and so she's spending a lot of time with her girls and they were," Hilton said, referencing their time filming The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, at the Elizabeth Taylor Ball to End AIDS in September. "So she's really spending a lot of time with the girls."

While she and Umansky aren't as close these days, the Hilton family matriarch revealed that she still periodically speaks to The Agency founder.

"We're family. I want it all to be nice," she explained. "I have my nieces I love and adore and I like everybody to get along."

In July 2023, a source close to the couple told PEOPLE that Richards and Umansky had separated. Though the couple still lived together in the midst of their split, Umansky has since moved out to a place in West Hollywood, which Richards confirmed while appearing on a May 14 episode of the Bitch Bible podcast.

“I always knew when that day came it would feel strange. Very real all of a sudden. And that’s exactly what happened,” the Bravolebrity said at the time. “I’m used to having a lot of chaos and stuff going around at my house. The day that he moved out was just strange because I came home and I was like, 'everything's so quiet.'”

One year after their separation, a source told PEOPLE that the pair are currently “working on how to establish their individual lives while remaining connected as a family.”

The insider continued, “After being in a routine for decades, they have had a lot to figure out while navigating their new normal. Going through a separation has been challenging enough that no one is rushing to get a divorce.” 

Since then, the Buying Beverly Hills star has seemingly stepped back into the dating pool. In July, Umansky was spotted passionately kissing a mystery woman at the airport in Mykonos, Greece. The photo came after a source told PEOPLE the realtor was “getting to know” influencer Alexandria Wolfe.

"Mauricio and Alexandria have been enjoying each other's company upon meeting in Aspen," the insider said at the time. "They have become good friends."

Rumors also swirled about the real estate broker and his Dancing with the Stars partner Emma Slater after they were spotted holding hands in 2023, but the pair maintained they were just "really good friends."
