Kathy Griffin Talks Dating amid Divorce, Jokes She Had Her 'Eye on' Martin Short but 'Meryl Streep Got in My Way' (Exclusive)

Kathy Griffin is “single and sexy” at 63 — though her top choice for a new partner may not be available!

The comedian — who is currently on her My Life on the PTSD List tour — tells PEOPLE that she is moving forward amid her divorce from her estranged husband Randy Bick.

“As corny as it sounds, if anything can restore my broken heart, it’s hearing the laughter from the audiences all over America and Canada,” she says. “I’m looking at you Europe, you better call me next."

Griffin shares that the tour has been “the panacea to all that ails me” after filing for divorce from Bick in December 2023 after four years of marriage and her vocal cord repair surgery to repair damage from her lung cancer surgery in June.

“Each show is truly a gift,” she says. “I know I’m being braggadocious, but I’ve gotten a standing ovation at the end of every show and I’m 45 cities in so far.” 

“I’m so grateful to have my vocal cord implant,” she adds, before teasing, “I call it my ‘boob job’ because it’s the only implant I have.”

The My Life on the D-List star also says she is “currently dating all of my audiences" — but had her sights particularly set on one of the stars of Only Murders in the Buildings.

“I am open to darn near anything. Do you not know me? That’s how I get in trouble," she says, before joking, "I had my eye on Marty Short, but that trollop Meryl Streep got in my way. You cannot trust these Hollywood phonies.”

Short, 74, and Streep, 75, have been linked for months after their onscreen romance on Only Murders appeared to carry over into real life. Though the two have insisted they're just friends, costar Steve Martin seemingly confirmed their romance on Instagram recently when he shared a photo of the trio with his face X'ed out.

Though dating Short may not be in her future, Griffin is still keeping her eyes open — but dating apps may not be how she finds love again.

"Can you imagine me on the dating apps? I’m taking advice, obviously I’ll be starting with FarmersOnly.com," she jokes. "I’m kidding, I don’t know anything about farming. But I am a bit of a hoe. There I said it.”

Griffin previously told PEOPLE in May that she is taking the divorce — which has yet to be finalized — “one day at a time.”

“One show at a time. I thank God for this tour. I thank God it happened. I'm just so grateful to be on tour, so it takes my mind off it," she said. "The great Joan Rivers used to say, 'The more your life is in the s—--, the fun you are,' so I must be hilarious.”
