Jennifer Garner and Boyfriend John Miller Have Date Night in L.A. After Ben Affleck Divorce News

Jennifer Garner rang in the weekend with boyfriend John Miller.

The couple were spotted on Friday, Aug. 23, stepping out for a date night at a Los Angeles-area restaurant, three days after Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, who is Garner's ex-husband.

The two were photographed with smiles on their faces and dressed casually, with the Family Switch actress, 52, in a blue sweater and her businessman beau in a flannel button-up over a white tee.

A source had told PEOPLE that Garner is "happy with" Miller, one day after Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Aug. 20.

Affleck and Garner began dating in 2004 and married in June 2005, later welcoming children Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.

The actors announced their separation in June 2015 before simultaneously filing for divorce in April 2017. PEOPLE confirmed that Garner and Affleck had finalized their divorce in October 2018, three years after first separating.

PEOPLE first reported that the 13 Going on 30 actress was beginning to date again days after she and Affleck finalized their divorce in 2018. It was confirmed she was dating Miller, a California-based businessman, entrepreneur and author, weeks later.

Though the couple were seen spending time together on a number of occasions over the next two years, Garner said she was single in a March 2021 interview with PEOPLE. However, she and Miller were seen together several more times over the following two years. In February 2023, a source told PEOPLE the couple had been back together for a year.

Prior to dating Garner, Miller was married to violinist Caroline Campbell, whom he divorced from in 2011 after six years of marriage. The former couple share two children.

Affleck, meanwhile, eventually rekindled his early-2000s relationship with Lopez in 2021. They married the following summer.

Hours before Lopez's filing, which occurred on the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding, Affleck was seen returning to L.A. with Garner after they recently brought their oldest child Violet to college at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

Before Affleck and Garner brought Violet to college, the family also celebrated his 52nd birthday together on Aug. 15; both Garner and Lopez were spotted visiting the actor's rental home in Brentwood, California, that day.
