The icon announced on Instagram on Aug. 14 that her beauty line Dolly Beauty would be coming soon — and her fans flooded her comments with excitement. Her announcement came with a photo of herself sitting in a makeup chair with her name on the back, in front of a vanity mirror and holding a lipstick. She wrote in the caption — which was a dual post shared with her beauty brand's new Instagram account, "I feel glamorous on the inside, so I want to look like it on the outside… something is coming @dollybeauty." Launching officially on Aug. 22, Dolly Beauty will begin with a four-lipstick capsule — and the bullets are naturally covered in crystals, because we expect nothing less from Parton. The shades are Jolene Red, Honey Plum, Rosebud and Birthday suit and include a bright red, a mauve, a nude and a deep purple shade. The lipstick bullets themselves even have a butterfly stamped into them. They will retail for $20 and will roll out into stores in 2025. You'll be able to shop them online this month, though. She elaborated on her relationship with makeup over the years, though, saying, she didn't always have access to the high-end beauty products because of her upbringing, but that didn't matter. "I'd find ways to create my own makeup with pokeberries and stuff that grew wild in the fields. I think all people that grow up in the mountains learn how to improvise with what you don't have," she said. "I would strike Mama's old kitchen matches to make eyebrows and my beauty mark. Still, I find myself mixing and matching different makeups for different colors." Close
