The Brat singer, 32, pulled double duty on the Nov. 16 episode of Saturday Night Live as the host and musical guest. She appeared in a number of sketches over the course of the night, including a hilarious new version of the viral 'Domingo' sketch that Ariana Grande appeared in when she hosted the show on Oct. 12. In the original "Bridesmaid Speech" skit Grande, 31, played a bridesmaid who couldn't quite hit her notes, alongside Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim and Sarah Sherman. Grande sang off key to the tune of Sabrina Carpenter's song "Espresso," about the group's bachelorette party for the bride, played by Chloe Fineman. In Charli xcx's version of the skit, which was titled, "Babymoon," Fineman returned, this time as a pregnant bride during her baby shower, where the singer, Gardner, Nwodim and Sherman performed a (slightly off key) song about their "besties babymoon," this time to Chappell Roan’s track “Hot To Go." Charli XCX Confirms Rumor She Was Asked to Write Songs for Britney Spears: 'She Didn't Record It' The song featured the lyrics, “We get facials at the spa, but Kelsey doesn’t talk at all,” followed by, “We say, ‘Kelsey get off your phone,’ cause we know who she’s texting! We know who she’s texting! D-O-M-I-N-G-O," as the friends hinted Fineman's pregnant character could have had her baby fathered by Domingo. The Domingo referenced was the same man who, in Grande's skit, the bridesmaids had sung about the bride-to-be flirting with during their bachelorette party. For the show's musical numbers, the "Girls, so confusing" singer opted to perform "360," which was introduced by Julia Fox in a cameo appearance. The song's lyrics, "I'm everywhere/I'm so Julia," are a nod to Fox, 34. Charli xcx also performed another track from Brat, her song "Sympathy is a Knife," which also has a connection to Grande, who appeared on the remix of the track. Elsewhere, the "Apple" singer played Adele in a sketch titled "Wicked Auditions," which featured "unseen" footage of stars (played by Charli xcx and SNL cast members) auditioning for roles in the new movie, as well as Victoria Beckham in a white skirt suit at a Thanksgiving event, in "It Girl Thanksgiving Special." Charli XCX Recalls Feeling 'Super Jealous' of Lorde's Early Success and Thinking 'That Could Have Been Me' The evening marked Charli xcx’s third time as the show’s musical guest. She initially performed in 2014 when British actor Martin Freeman hosted. She performed again in 2022 during Oscar Isaac’s episode. The “Guess” singer has also previously appeared in several digital shorts, including in “The Christmas Socks” music video with Paul Rudd and in the “Meatballs” digital short with cast member Sarah Sherman. The singer-songwriter recently concluded her Sweat Tour with Australian singer Troye Sivan and released a remix of her Brat album on Oct. 11. The album features Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Lorde and more artists. SNL airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. EST on NBC and streams live on Peacock. Close
