After the results from the 2024 presidential election, the latest episode of Saturday Night Live kicked off on a serious note — but things soon took a comedic turn.

During the post-election cold open on the Saturday, Nov. 9 episode, four members of the SNL cast initially appeared on stage to address the re-election of Donald Trump, who later appeared (played by James Austin Johnson) with a "hot jacked" new look.

Among the comments made by the cast members Kenan Thompson, Ego Nwodim, Heidi Gardner and Bowen Yang early on in the cold open, Nwodim called the results "shocking and horrifying" to "many people," while Thompson said Americans voted for the "same Donald Trump" who "openly called for vengeance" against his political enemies.

"And that is why we at SNL would like to say to Donald Trump, we... have been with you all along," Thompson said a short while later.

The four cast members then began to jokingly praise the president-elect, with Yang saying that he and his cast mates have "never wavered" in their support.

Cast members Sarah Sherman and Marcello Hernández also joined in to confirm that "every single person" on stage voted for him, as Colin Jost noted in faux seriousness that while Trump says "controversial" things, he's really just speaking the "truth," before playfully laying blame on his Weekend Update co-anchor Michael Che.

"And I hate how the lamestream media, Michael Che, tries to spin it to make you look foolish," Jost joked.

Thompson then noted that if Trump was "keeping some sort of list of your enemies then..."

"... We should not be on that list," Hernández finished for him.

After the cast discussed how they had all voted for Trump and highlighted that three new cast members had not, Sherman said SNL was "so excited" to debut its "new" impression of the president-elect, which she called, "hot jacked Trump."

Johnson, who has been portraying Trump all season so far, then appeared on stage with a slimmer look, black tank top, red bandana and some noticeably larger, fake muscles.

"That's right, that's right. It's me, hot jacked Trump. They finally got the body right," Johnson as Trump said.

"But for now on, we're going to do a very flattering portrayal of Trump because he's, frankly, my hero. And he's going to make an incredible president and eventually, king! We love you, buddy," he continued.

Later in the skit, Thompson reassured viewers that "if our planet falls apart, we can all go to Mars with the other man that we love and trust, Elon Musk."

At that point, an excitable Dana Carvey — who has previously portrayed President Joe Biden this season — appeared on stage jumping up and down as Musk in a "Dark MAGA" hat, wearing an outfit reminiscent of the same one the billionaire wore to a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in October.

"Seriously, I run the country now," Carvey's Musk said.

"America's going to be like one of my rockets, you know? They're super cool and super fun. But there's a slight chance it could blow up and everybody dies."

After some mid-air "USA" chants, Carvey left the stage and the rest of the cast began to sing a version Village People's "Y.M.C.A." addressing the "young men" who helped elect Trump.

The latest episode of SNL arrives after Trump clinched victory in the 2024 presidential election on Nov. 6, winning a rare nonconsecutive second term in the White House.

Vice President Kamala Harris appeared on the NBC series just days before, when she made a surprise appearance alongside Maya Rudolph during the Nov. 2 episode of the show.
