WEEK IN REVIEW: Dennis at Kate's Estate?

COZY NOOK: Basketball bad boy Dennis Rodman is among six parties interested in purchasing the Fenwick, Conn., estate of the late Katharine Hepburn, reported The New York Times. The 7,100-sq.-ft. house with its 10 bedrooms, seven bathrooms and three acres of beachfront property on Long Island Sound had been home to the Hepburns since 1912. The asking price: $12 million. Estimated property tax: $30,000 a year, though it could go as high as $88,000, depending on new assessments in the area, says the paper. Hepburn died in June at age 96.

NICOLE WINS: Nicole Kidman claimed a five-figure financial settlement and an apology Tuesday from the British tabloid the Sun after the paper said last March that she had an affair with her “Cold Mountain” costar Jude Law, which reportedly contributed to the break-up of his marriage to Sadie Frost. According to Reuters, “The defendants apologize to the claimant for the distress and embarrassment this article has caused,” said the Sun’s lawyer Daniel Taylor. Kidman, 37, who was not in court for the decision, said in a statement afterwards: “I am glad that this has finally been resolved.”

RITTER REMEMBRANCE: About 1,000 people gathered Tuesday night at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre to remember John Ritter, 54, who died Sept. 11 of an undetected heart problem. At the tribute, Ritter’s widow, actress Amy Yasbeck, stood with photos of Ritter and said, “Sorry, John, but tonight we are here to love you out loud,” the Associated Press reported. Tom Ritter described his brother as “a pied piper of fun, filled with joy and love.”

HOLIDAY IDOL: FOX will broadcast a one-hour holiday special, “American Idol: Christmas Songs,” on the night of Nov. 25, two days before Thanksgiving and only one day before the end of the fall ratings sweeps period, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The special is due to tie in with the just-released CD “American Idol – The Great Holiday Classics” and is scheduled to include appearances from past “Idol” champs Kelly Clarkson and Ruben Studdard, as well as runners-up Justin Guarini and Clay Aiken. (And, no, judge Simon Cowell, aka “Scrooge,” will not be there.)

J.LO REDUX: Jennifer Lopez, 34, whose last movie “Gigli” was one for the record books, will be back in record stores Nov. 18, when Epic will release “The Reel Me,” an EP featuring the new song “Baby I Love U” and an accompanying DVD with 17 of J.Lo’s music videos, reported Billboard. The package will also include a remix of “Baby I Love U,” featuring R. Kelly, as well as remixes of the tracks “Jenny From the Block,” “All I Have,” “I’m Glad” and “The One.”
