The "You and I" singer, 44, is saying farewell to her Spanish-style retreat. She listed it on Thursday, Oct. 31 with an asking price of $4,295,000 with Eric Lavey of Sotheby’s International Realty. Before putting the house on the market, the The Notebook musical songwriter brought in celebrity interior designer and HGTV alum Francesca Grace to stage the space with feminine yet modern pieces like the living room's oversize circular armchairs wrapped in chintz, which Grace custom made for Michaelson. William Myers The designer tells PEOPLE exclusively that before she ever set foot in Michaelson's home it was already "very cozy and eclectic," but she lightened up a few of the rooms that she notes, "were a little dark and slightly dated." Other elements, like the eye-catching navy shelving in the bedroom and Michaelson's own white grand piano got the okay to stay. Grace, who has worked with Justin Bieber, Alicia Keys and Hilary Duff, also layered in some of her custom designs with a vintage aesthetic to give the house a lived-in, approachable feel. William Myers "When it's too magazine-like . . . it's hard to imagine snuggling up on the sofa with a warm coffee," Grace adds. "Especially in the Hollywood Hills, that's important. You're nestled high in the trees, I want it to feel organic and warm." Overall, she shares, she wanted the space to feel like "somewhere where you would love to lounge and listen to such a talented musician such as Ingrid herself." And, should the new buyer fall in love with the current decoration, they can purchase all of Grace's pieces inside along with the house. William Myers Grace, who is also a furniture designer and appeared on HGTV's Fix My Flip, is currently decorating the home of another famous singer-songwriter, Sabrina Carpenter, she tells PEOPLE. That project is nearly complete and will feature a similarly girly, vintage-inspired aesthetic, but with a Victorian twist. "We've wallpapered every single room basically at this point," Grace says.
