LeAnn Rimes Addresses 'Difficult Time'

Is LeAnn Rimes’s marriage to Dean Sheremet on the rocks?

In response to a report that the singer-actress is having an affair with actor Eddie Cibrian, Rimes posted a statement on her official Web site Wednesday morning explaining, “This is a difficult time for me and my loved ones, but I appreciate all your continued support.”

The personal drama didn’t stop Rimes, 26, from appearing on Wednesday’s episode of Live with Regis and Kelly where she said, “Everything s great!”

When Regis Philbin mentioned there was a rumor circulating about her, she shrugged it off by noting, “There’s rumors all the time.”

The singer added that “everything people read it’s not as easy as black and white” – a sentiment echoed on her Web site.

Meanwhile, Sheremet, 28, posted an update on Twitter stating, “I love my wife!!!” on Wednesday.

Rimes and Cibrian, 35 – who is married to model Brandi Glanville and has two sons, Mason, 5, and Jake, almost 2 – costar in the upcoming Lifetime original movie Northern Lights, which they filmed last fall. Us Weekly alleges the pair had a romantic rendezvous as recently as March 14.

On March 1, Rimes was spotted holding hands with her husband at a farmers market in Brentwood, Calif. Last month, she told PEOPLE that their plans to start a family were “still there,” but added, “I’m not sure when that’s going to happen” because she is currently focusing on acting.

Anniversary Party

Rimes and Sheremet celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary March 11, and even hosted a “Seven-Year Itch” party last August, thumbing their noses at the idea that couples lose interest in each other after being together for that long.

“We wanted to remember how blessed we are, and how excited we still are about each other,” Rimes told PEOPLE at the time. “We love each other.”

The singer, however, admitted she and her husband, a dancer who has also co-written songs with with his wife, had little time for each other: “I saw him the other day and he was like, ‘We’ve gotta get together!’ . . . and I’m like, ‘Can you do this day?’ and then it’s like, ‘Talk to you in October!'”

Last year, Rimes who was 19 when she got married, said: “Every odd in the world was stacked against us. But we’ve grown together instead of apart. And we’re really happy.”
