Brianna LaPaglia Says This Song Made Her a 'Taylor Swift Fan' After Breakup from Zach Bryan: 'It Took a Scumbag'

Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia's taste in music is expanding.

In a recent video uploaded to her TikTok spam account, LaPaglia revealed that she's a new fan of Taylor Swift after relating to her song "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived" amid her breakup from Zach Bryan.

The clip features a selfie-shot of LaPaglia, 25, in conversation with her aunt, who starts the video by saying that she listened to the song "three times" before pulling up the lyrics only to become "f---ing floored" about its meaning.

"Bar for bar, right!" jumps in LaPaglia. "Word for word," emphasizes her aunt, adding, "Did she write that song for—" before the content creator cuts her off to say, "Me?"

The aunt clarifies, "Yes ... for the whole Zach, you, everything. I'm like, 'Holy s--t'." LaPaglia says in response, "I know. It took a scumbag to make me a Taylor Swift fan."

Swift's song is featured on her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. Many Swifties believe “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” was about Swift's relationship with singer Matty Healy.

In the track, Swift, 34, slams a former lover for making her believe they were in love, and then abruptly ending things and ruining her summer.

“It wasn’t sexy once it wasn’t forbidden / I would’ve died for your sins / Instead I just died inside,” she sings. “And you deserve prison but you won’t get time / You’ll slide into inboxes and slip through the bars / You crashed my party and your rental car / You said normal girls were ‘boring’ / But you were gone by the morning."

LaPaglia's newfound interest in Swift comes on the heels of her breakup with Bryan, 28, which she recently opened up about in a tell-all conversation on Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards' BFFs Podcast released on Thursday, Nov. 7.

This marked the first time that the Plan Bri UnCut host spoke about her past romance and split from the country star since their breakup was made public on Oct. 22. In the video, she accused Bryan of emotional abuse while they were together.

Reps for LaPaglia and Bryan did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

"The last year of my life has been the hardest year of my life dealing with the abuse from this dude," LaPaglia said, referring to Bryan. "I'm still scared right now because I'm scared of him ... My brain's rewired and I'm scared to make him mad and last week, I didn't want to talk about it 'cause I was scared."

LaPaglia also claimed that the women who were formerly in relationships with Bryan were made to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to keep them from publicly discussing their own experiences with him. She alleged to have been offered $12 million along with a New York apartment to "not talk about the relationship."

The same day LaPaglia and Bryan's split was announced on Oct. 22, Portnoy made reference to the aforementioned Swift song in a tribute tweet to LaPaglia on X (formerly Twitter).

"Dedicating this to @BChickenfry," he wrote alongside a link to "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived."

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, Portnoy and Richards released a diss track titled "Smallest Man." The song, which has since been deleted from Spotify and YouTube, featured digs at Bryan in the wake of his breakup with LaPaglia.

The next day, Portnoy spoke about "another twist in the smallest man diss track saga" in a video shared on X. " 'Smallest Man,’ once again taken down from YouTube,’” he said, before quoting the song’s lyrics.

Despite the song getting removed, Portnoy said that wouldn't stop him. "I will write 10,000 diss tracks,” he made clear. “I will go die in the booths."
