Host Megan Thee Stallion made a statement with her first of what she promised would be roughly "500" outfit changes throughout the night and Taylor Swift put a sexy spin on plaid. Other stars brought their style A-game to the UBS Arena in New York, including performers Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter, who set the tone with their dramatic (and very different) red carpet looks. Anitta, who looked ready to say "I do" in a bridal-inspired number, while Halsey, who wore a Versace gown originally designed for Elizabeth Hurley almost 30 years ago. And did we mention Lenny Kravitz was shirtless? Check out all of PEOPLE's full MTV VMAs coverage here, and below, enjoy the wildest fashion of the night.
