Our GirlPower Program #SafeSpaces continues to make incredible impact on the lives of adolescent girls in government secondary schools in Lagos, Nigeria, providing them with life skills for a prosperous future. Our team, in conjunction with Star Girls Africa, have been meeting with 300 girls from Obele Community High School and Ideal Girls Junior High School every week, to achieve our mission of increasing girls interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) industries. For the past two weeks, they were engaged in basic science experiments and interactive sessions on career pathways in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). In the coming weeks, the girls will be taught digital skills including basic coding. They will also be taken through non-traditional roles in tech and career pathways in Arts (humanities/social sciences/arts). We’re excited to see the continuous impact of the program, and how the girls will leverage these skills and resources to explore the numerous opportunities in STEAM industries!
