Many designers don't know this. They learn about the fonts from their seniors and use multiples of 4px in design systems. Similarly, I found out when I was working with Suraj Pandit on a freelance website project. 16 pixels equals 1 rem. When you divide 16px by 4, you get 4px, which is 0.25 rem. This makes it easier for developers to work with. Using numbers like 0.366 rem or other random middle numbers can be confusing and make it harder to create a responsive design. There are many benefits of using rem in development. Using `rem` units in CSS enhances web design by ensuring scalability, consistency, and accessibility. They scale with the root font size, simplifying responsive design and maintenance. `rem` units respect user settings, improving readability, and support fluid layouts and straightforward media queries. Overall, they promote a flexible, scalable, and accessible approach to web design.

Designers, it’s time y’all be honest with yourselves 🙄 because… You don’t commit timelines with buffers!!!! Pyaare designers, when committing a deadline PLS PLS PLS commit it with a buffer!!!! You NEVER know: - shayad tum lift me atak jaao - shayad final files ka email bhejte doodh ubal jaye - shayad beechme movie dekh ke aane ka man kare - and maybe koi genuine problem aa jaye! Don’t try to be a client pleaser and agree to tight deadlines to prove yourself. Nobody cares :) Instead: - If it’ll take you 2 hours, commit 4 - If it’ll take you 4 hours, commit 8 - If it’ll take you till EOD, commit for the next day You HAVE to keep yourself AND the client safe. This way, you also won't be expected to work on crazy timelines. AND by chance galti se thoda aur time lag bhi jaye to muh chhupana bhi nahi padega 🫣 P.S: I’m curious, how long does it take you to write a follow-up email/message?

There are two types of design people exist 1) Those who- get problem statement> ideate solution> jump into the final design. 2) And those who- get problem statement> ideate solution> sketch the solution on paper> design a wireframe> then jump into Figma for final output. Both of them are correct in their world, but I believe in going step-by-step towards the solution. It helps me generate better ideas along the way and minimize the risk of failure at later stages, which I can't undo. After a year of procrastination, I have finally decided to revamp my portfolio 😁 And I am following all the steps that I follow for every project. Getting into UI/UX design? Here's my suggestions on how to go from 0 to product designer 👇 Btw, this is how I started my design career 13 years ago! In order to learn any skill, you have to practice... a lot. But in order to practice, you need to know how to use the tool to practice. If you're learning ui design or ux design, that tool is Figma! STEP 1: Learn the basics of Figma design first. You don't need to know workflow stuff like auto layout or components--just learn the hotkeys and how to work with frames. STEP 2: From there, you need to practice. But don't just wing it! See, you're trying to build your visual eye. When you are trying to use your imagination to make things from scratch, you're likely going to hit a lot of roadblocks specifically, your designs won't look like what you saw in your head. THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULD COPY. So go to Dribbble or Pinterest, find some great UI designs, and recreate them. When you begin to copy, you'll start building your skills and you'll find patterns in one design to the next and slowly you'll start to find yourself designing faster. It's here that you'll hit the peak of "Mt. Stupid" because you'll start to really understand just how much you DON'T KNOW. That brings us to STEP 3: Keep going. You'll find that you have a very shallow understanding of lots of design tactics, but you don't know how to do them well by yourself. Soooo go learn them while practicing and recreating. The best way to accomplish all of this in a short period of time is with my Free Design Challenge, 70Rad. 3 unconventional fields where I think UX Designers can be really helpful: 1. Government Services → In India, we often see new government schemes not being fully utilized by the target audience. → UX Designers can help by understanding the challenges people face and designing solutions that reach and benefit more people. 2. Public Transportation → Despite heavy investment, public transportation is often underutilized due to poor implementation. → UX Designers can improve the usability of public transport systems, from ticketing interfaces to navigation apps and station wayfinding. 3. Non-Profit and Social Impact → Many non-profits do great work but struggle to convert interest into support due to lack of funds. → UX designers can help by creating user-friendly websites that effectively communicate their cause, connect with the right audience, and ultimately increase overall engagement. Being in the UX industry for almost 5 years now, I've realized that UX Design is not just about designing better screens for users; it's also about making life easier for customers.
