Designers, it’s time y’all be honest with yourselves 🙄 because… You don’t commit timelines with buffers!!!! Pyaare designers, when committing a deadline PLS PLS PLS commit it with a buffer!!!! You NEVER know: - shayad tum lift me atak jaao - shayad final files ka email bhejte doodh ubal jaye - shayad beechme movie dekh ke aane ka man kare - and maybe koi genuine problem aa jaye! Don’t try to be a client pleaser and agree to tight deadlines to prove yourself. Nobody cares :) Instead: - If it’ll take you 2 hours, commit 4 - If it’ll take you 4 hours, commit 8 - If it’ll take you till EOD, commit for the next day You HAVE to keep yourself AND the client safe. This way, you also won't be expected to work on crazy timelines. AND by chance galti se thoda aur time lag bhi jaye to muh chhupana bhi nahi padega 🫣 P.S: I’m curious, how long does it take you to write a follow-up email/message?
That's the point, clients expect beginner designers to deliver in 2 hours and experienced and senior designers to start ideating in 3 days, work in 7 days, and deliver anytime next year or as much as you like.
Learned this after listening to the client's text "I'm disappointed, Priyal".
That's why ab mujhe muh nhi chupana padhta hai 👍
Learnt it the hard way and now I keep realistic timeliness with more buffer time. My first client project was a nightmare. He was too relaxed, I was too relaxed. Ended up doing everything on the night before my end term exam lol.
Shayad tum file save karna bhool jaao aur software crash ho jaaye
But what if they say: - Lift me laptop leke jao! - Doodh ko low flame me ubalo - Man mar lo - problem hai to solution bhi hai ( TKOC intro music) Rajan Dube
Cannot agree more, Rajan Dube! Always better to have buffer time with us. Even if we are confident about the time we’ll take to complete a design, we may never know what obstacles may arise and prevent us from completing our work on time.
"Dudh ubal kr gir jana" looks like a genuine problem guys 😂 Jokes apart, keeping buffer time is definitely a good way to wave along with the tight deadlines Rajan Dube
That way both parties are safe. And the work quality won't be affected (hope so). Rajan Dube

4moDo you keep buffers or you're waiting to learn it the hard way?
