In a recent interview, Samir Saran emphasised the astounding figure that less than 3% of global climate finance reaches developing nations (excluding China), highlighting a critical gap in our fight against climate change. With developing nations responsible for two-thirds of emissions reductions, it’s vital that they receive two-thirds of climate funding. It’s time to prioritise equitable climate finance and ensure a sustainable future for all. #climatechange #sustainability #climate #leaders #fund #justice

At an earlier interview, EAM Dr. S. Jaishankar highlighted the nature of the QUAD grouping and its larger purpose. Minister Jaishankar, upon being asked about the alliance readiness of India in supporting the United States during a hypothetical Chinese invasion of Taiwan, clarified that the QUAD is not a military treaty-based alliance, but rather a strategic grouping aimed at achieving common goals and equal development. It is not in the Indian interest to form alliances that bind states but rather to abide by common universal principles. #quad #india #indopacific #military #geopolitics #security

International Relations is about national interest and balance of power. Although their impact on how states act and interact is similar, emphasis and scope differ in this. The economic, military, and technological rivalry between the U.S. and China is a result of those ambitions in the 21st century. At the same time, alliances like NATO and QUAD are reiterated to maintain the new balance of power. Authored by Neeraj Mehra for the Geostrata. #india #usa #nationalism #thought #debate #france
