Red Hat is enriching release after release the amount of security features supported by its OpenShift Container Platform to provide customers a lot of flexibility to design the best suited architecture to mitigate their assessed risk. Also Red Hat continued to invest massively in its Product Security (vulnerability management, incident response, secure software development,...) and launched a Trusted Software Supply Chain (aka TSSC) offering based on upstream projects like SigStore (https://www.sigstore.dev/) or Entreprise Contract (https://lnkd.in/eGbarMuW). So it is great to see that another major sovereign cloud actor decided to power its sovereign cloud offering with OpenShift ! Even if AI is over over all place these days (and OpenShift is also on it with OpenShift AI...), security remains to me a fundamental to go in production. I always preferred sessions providing customer's feedback than supplier's own explanations on the numerous advantages of its solution (and this also includes solutions from my current employer 😇 ). This is a way to hear what is great about the product but also to get inspirations for future improvements. This is even better in user groups where customers are exchanging between themselves. This is really a nice way to fuel the product evolution if you can listen, consolidate and execute on that feedback. So if you are interested to know how a customer is using OpenShift Virtualization to support virtual machines on a container platform (as you were thinking to do the same) then you may consider passing by Paris on Oct 8th for the Red Hat Summit Connect. I like this short video that emphasises the power of automation to deploy a Private 5G network when the network functions are containerised (aka CNFs). Automation is a broad topic and can take different shapes and forms like the use of OpenShift Operators for deploying and configuring SR-IOV for performance optimisation or PTP for synchronisation but also using GitOps to support a ZTP (Zero-Touch Provisioning) approach. A cloud platform like Red Hat OpenShift is leveraging automation at every layer even RHEL CoreOS, the container specific OS is managed by the platform through a MachineConfig Operator. I just miss in this video more details on which part of the automation is done by Ansible Automation Platform. Hopefully for this we have System Integrators partners such as Odine who could explain you how they did use Ansible for supporting customers like Turkcell for deploying 5G (not private 5G in this case) at scale: https://lnkd.in/evTKarW5 In a Telco Cloud, it is not only about one automation technology but a set of automation enablers that must be used in concert to deploy, manage and secure the clusters and the workloads that support the network evolution. When you are building the Cloud service provider.Both VXLAN or GENEVE are mandatory to create overlay network Just find the Comparison of VXLAN and GENEVE From a bird’s eye view, we will feel that VxLAN and Geneve provide the same functional output, i.e. encapsulation and transport of L2 frames inside an Layer 3 IP packet. Infact, both use UDP protocol for carrying out their function. However, there are some aspects which differentiate both the tunnelling protocols. While the Header Length of VXLAN frame is 8 Byte, Geneve has double the size of header is 16 bytes. Further, 3 aspects which are not available in VXLAN are Transport security, service chaining and in-band telemetry. Additionally, some key shortcomings with VXLAN which were addressed with Geneve are – VXLAN lacks the protocol identifier field, so VXLAN assumes the payload is Ethernet and no other. However, further multiplexing/demultiplexing requires a protocol identifier in payload address, which VXLAN lacks. No ability to send out a packet frame which does not belong to the client i.e. the other end can’t distinguish whether it is a client packet or not. All fields in VXLAN are fixed and there is no option for interoperability by using extensible fields. One last distinction between both protocols is that VXLAN calls the Tunnel endpoints as “VTEP” while “TEP” is terminology used in the case of Geneve. It’s 2006. I’m taking my first steps at France Telecom (Equant). I admire my team—they are experienced, certified, and fluent in multiple languages: French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, German, and Japanese. They are wonderful, supportive, and encouraging.  Eager to give back, I wonder: How can I give back? How can I say thanks? Then the opportunity arose: we would work on a new product—DSL (yes, it’s 2006 😊). I decided to write a guide about the technology and the way of working (WoW). I shared it with my colleagues and manager, and they loved it! A week later, my manager included it in one of the trainings, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁? • Due to my research and the quality of the Content, I became the virtual Subject Matter Expert (SME) for DSL within the team (not bad for a newbie). • My guide evolved into part of a training package, earning recognition from a wider audience. • It helped me a lot in my self-awareness journey. I like to produce Content! 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 In the long term, here’s what I learned and would advise the community: 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Producing and presenting Content has become my primary way of contributing to the community and thanking all my colleagues who have supported me throughout my career. 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: I became known for producing Content, and I started to focus on this track and widen my content writeup, which helped to shape my digital identity. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀: I dedicated time to content creation alongside my job. This helped me throughout my career and enabled me to provide numerous training classes, multiple training packs, and webinars over the years. 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁: Creating Content helps you master what you document. 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: Getting used to producing Content makes you comfortable with Technical Writing such as HLD, Solution description, RFX, RFX Response, etc. Unfortunately, many professionals overlook this skill. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁: Publicly sharing Content helps break the ice and build preliminary customer trust. Many times, I’ve met customers who were already following my webinars, which has always facilitated my work. 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 are the perfect ingredients for content creation, but I’ll save that for my next post 😊 Do you create Content? If so, how has it impacted your career? Best part is - Its available to all of us (Everyone) regardless of race, title or location. We are made in God's likeness, given various gifts and talents, and we are loved by him. for all of us: 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” to think further: Will the consequences of Sin be our persuasion ? or Will restored relationships. Will guilt and trouble ? or Will the joy of fullness of Life both Present and to come.
