Focus in Uncertain Times We can all use help to some degree to be more focused. But usually the idea of “staying focused” has primarily been in regard to getting important tasks done. But in these uncertain times surrounding the coronavirus, God has shown me that focus not only determines whether we get things done but also dictates our emotional state. When we focus on the right things, we can experience peace, joy, and hope in any situation. These fruits of the Spirit are available to you right here, right now. But your focus will determine whether you receive these blessings or not. As Romans 12:2 exhorts us: "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--His good, pleasing and perfect will." In this devotional, we will be discussing what to put focus on and what to take the focus off. And as you readjust your lens, God will get bigger, any problems you face will get smaller, and you will be able to enter into the full blessings available to you as a son or daughter of God. This includes both the ability to get done what you can do as well as to experience the perfect peace available to you in the Lord. "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You." ~Isaiah 26:3

Quote of the week: Delayed does not mean Denied let's talk about this quote The quote "Delayed does not mean denied" suggests that just because something doesn't happen immediately, it doesn't mean it won't happen at all. This concept resonates with the idea of patience and perseverance in the face of obstacles or delays. In the Bible, there are several verses that convey this message. One example is Isaiah 40:31, which says, "But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." This verse encourages believers to trust in God's timing and promises, knowing that waiting patiently will bring strength and renewal. Similarly, Romans 8:28 assures us that "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." This verse reminds us that even when things seem delayed or not going according to our plans, God is still at work behind the scenes, orchestrating events for our ultimate good. I'll list just this two amongst many. Overall, both the quote and these biblical verses emphasize the importance of patience, trust, and faith in God's timing and plan for our lives. The Word for Today; Are you fulfilling your needs or God's? Genesis 2:5-7 “Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth and no plant had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground, but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground. Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” Within Mark 7:5-13, Yahshua quotes the prophets in order to alert "believers" that they were not doing God's will, but their own (see Matthew 7:21-23). It is because many go by their feelings instead of God's Word (see 1 Samuel 15:11-23). Many in doing what they enjoy are ignoring what God "needs" of them. Consider and read the following scriptures. Isaiah 50:4-5 Psalms 40:4-8 Matthew 3:13-17 Matthew 26:36-42 Luke 2:41-50 John 4:31-34 John 5:19 John 5:30 John 6:38 John 8:29 John 14:10-14 John 15:10 John 16:31-32 1 John 3:21-24 I know that is a lot to read, but as stated within 2 Timothy 2:15, you need to study to be approved. The bottom line is that unless you are doing what God needs for you, He is pleased with you. Thus, you do not have His blessings but the blessings of the world. Question for you to consider, did you ask God and receive valid and unsubstantiated proof He spoke to you or are you just doing what feels good (see Judges 6:14-24 and Judges 6:36-40). As stated within Psalms 127:1-2, if you are not doing for God, it is your vanity that is guiding you.

Commit your way unto the Lord (roll and repose each care of your load on Him); trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.” (Ps 37:4,5; AMPC). In verse 4 we have an “if then” promise; if we do our part (delight ourselves in God) then He will do His part (give us our heart’s desires). I’m sure we all want to receive that promise, so how do we go about delighting ourselves in Him? I believe one of the major ways we do it is by spending time with Him – through reading the word, worship and prayer. The more we do this the more we will want to. Once we spend more time delighting in God and less time focused on all the needs, we want Him to meet, it often happens that our needs get taken care of in the process, without our even asking. David put it like this, “As the hart pants and longs for the water brooks, so I pant and long for You, O God.” (Ps 42:1; AMPC). In verse 5 of Psalm 37 there are 2 things that we have to do. Firstly, we have to put our future into God’s hands; in other words, we have to stop trying to work out everything for ourselves. Secondly, we have to put our trust in Him. We can put our trust in God because He is good and faithful; He has a good track record and it is found all through the Bible! Nothing is impossible for Him (Luke 1:37, Matt 19:26).

Matt. 9:28 (read v.29) NLT One's faith produces action, particularly from the person with whom you believe can help your situation. We need to ensure our faith is placed appropriately. Notice: 1. Despite the crowd and criticism, we press and persistently pursue help and healing. (Luke 8:43-48) 2. Despite reading and not understanding, we profit in the pursuit of wisdom from an anointed teacher. (Acts 8:31) 3. Despite others walking away, we confess and testify of the source of eternal truth and life. (John 6:66-69) Yes, my friends, I encourage you to "Stand On The Promises Of God!" They are sure and sound. Consider and contemplate these things.

Look to the Word of God Day and Night We already know that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17, NKJV). So, to achieve excellence in ministry, look to the Word of God day and night. It will guide you and keep you on the road to excellence. It will keep you from turning to the right or the left or using worldly wisdom to determine the path of your ministry.   Proverbs 4:20-22 says, “My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.” The Word is life and healing, and it stands for excellence in all things.   Exalt the Word in your life and ministry. Let it do the work. If there is ever a problem, apply God’s wisdom to it. Speak and act only on the Word. If you exalt the Word, people will be delivered.   In any area of ministry, if there is ever any doubt about which direction you should be headed, look toward the Word to direct you. Put the Word first. If you do this, everything else will take care of itself. Dr.Diana Brevan

Strong word today!!! Pursue Holiness by running from SIN! “Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, ‘What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.’” Matthew 26:40–41 Whenever you’re tempted, enter into prayer immediately. Remember how Jesus instructed us in prayer:, “So He said to them, ‘When you pray, say…’” Luke 11:2 Then, getting straight to the point, He finishes the prayer with these words: “…And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” (Luke 11:4) So when you’re tempted, pray immediately for deliverance and keep praying. Keep your mouth focused on prayer rather than on choice words. Keep your hands folded together rather than operating in sin. After a while, the temptation will pass and the Lord will strengthen you to act in holiness. As it is written, “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness…’” 2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV And why is His power made perfect? Because in your weakness, you’ll allow Him to be your strength and work for you rather than trying to work and fight temptation under your own strength. Jesus will be your strength. All that’s required of you is faith. As we also read, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” 1 John 5:4 Your victory comes through faith in God’s ability to help you. A strong Christian is not defined as a person who is strong in and of himself or herself. Rather, strong Christians are actually weak but have the ability to humble themselves and admit their weakness. They only appear as strong because they have God as their strength. Houge, Adam. Setting a Good Foundation – Ceaseless Prayer, part 2 Read Colossians 1 In the last lesson we read the first reason why God wants us to pray ceaselessly – so we can be filled with the knowledge of His will. The purpose of this knowledge is that we can be fully pleasing to Him. Let’s continue now with verse 11 which has another reason why we are to pray ceaselessly – so we can “be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might.” Power is something we often seek; but did you notice that the purpose isn’t that we are “strong” with all power? We are “strengthened” with all power. What is the difference? God knows we cannot do things in our own strength (John 15:5). So in order to do anything for Him, we need to first get strength from Him. What is the purpose of this strengthening? We are strengthened “for all endurance and patience with joy.” Our strength from God is never for our own purposes, for winning a temporary battle here on earth. The strength is for the purpose of helping us to endure trials and tribulations here on earth so that we will become patient. Look at Romans 5:3-5 to see how this works in God’s kingdom – suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope. And all of this is for the purpose that we, with joy, can give thanks to the Father. Another interesting statement is found in verse 12 – the fact that we are qualified to “share in the inheritance of the saints.” Sometimes we hesitate to do what God asks of us because we say we’re not qualified to do the job He asks us to do. In God’s kingdom it is never those who are qualified to do that job who are chosen by God – God qualifies those He chooses. He makes us qualified because He has already delivered us from darkness and placed us into His kingdom through the redemption and forgiveness He’s given us in His Son, Jesus. God asks us to do things He knows we can’t do; but when we cry out to Him acknowledging it is impossible for us, He does it through us, and then blesses us as if we’d done it all on our own. For that, our ceaseless prayer is always one of thanksgiving.

THE POWER OF RELEASING JESUS' SOLUTION In our walk of faith, understanding and embracing the power of releasing Jesus’ solution is vital. It reminds us that the battles we face are not ours alone but belong to the Lord. Through Scripture, we are encouraged to rely on God’s strength and guidance, releasing His solutions instead of acting on our own. 1. Recognize the Battle Belongs to God Deuteronomy 20:4 (AMP) reassures us, “For the Lord your God is He Who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to save you.” This foundational truth is echoed in 2 Chronicles 20:15 (AMP) and 1 Samuel 17:47 (AMP), reminding us that the battle is not ours, but God’s. Our enemies are His enemies first, and He will fight for us. 2. Release God’s Righteous Justice Romans 12:19-21 (TPT) advises, “Beloved, don’t be obsessed with taking revenge, but leave that to God’s righteous justice… Never let evil defeat you, but defeat evil with good.” We are called to resist the urge for revenge, trusting God to administer justice. By doing so, we allow God’s perfect plan to unfold, defeating evil with goodness. 3. Overcome Evil with Jesus’ Solution Evil is defeated not by our might but by releasing Jesus’ solution...
