Bart says: I always had some kind of goal to achieve but the moment I turned it into purpose it was much easier for me to come back to it everyday. But there are more reasons to have a purpose in life. Reason 4 of 10: One Direction. Once I realised I wanted to create comics, I stopped wasting time trying to develop other skills. One chart that will change how you work if you are in #learning and development , #Leadership development och #HR. In research, the gold standard is meta studies. I just found a meta study of meta studies in Nature. What is that? Diamond standard? And the topic is what impacts behavior formation the most. The take-away is that Knowledge of the behaviour has a Small impact on behaviour change; Behaviour skill has a medium impact. The only Large determinant of behaviour change is habit. 🙋🏽‍♀️👩🏼‍💻This morning I attended Women in Tech Finland breakfast at Ework Group Finland and had the privilege to make connections and listen to exceptional dedicated and talented leaders like Johanna Haapman, Reetta Rautu, Tiia Jokilehto, Katariina Sorkkila, Saija Anttila who are aiming to break the gender gap in Tech and management roles and actively seeking for new solutions to bring more equality and diversity to the industry, hence provide a better service for their customers and benefit societies. Johanna and Reetta introduced us to some of the research they ran across Nordic countries and Poland which shows the roles and the share of women in different industries and they discussed the factors that facilitate or not the participation of the female workforce in such roles. To be honest, it made me feel a bit uncomfortable to be the only man in the room, I felt almost like an intruder and couldn’t stop thinking that my presence might make the environment feel “less safe” somehow. Nonetheless I appreciate the opportunity to be there and the openness of the hosts and other participants. I can only imagine how women feel every day going through inequalities and unfair situations at work and how (even in Finland) they still need to fight for validation and recognition from the privileged people (I mean men) in power positions. I highly recommend the Women in Tech Finland network and the events they organize, not only because of the content but also because of the eye-opening and impactful information that has the potential to disrupt predominant (and unfair) work cultures and how our society is biased. I think it is important to break stereotypes and keep learning and evolving, I’m thankful that these organizations exist and invest their time in initiatives that contribute to better futures for everyone. PS. The food was amazing, even though I am not a fan of porridge, I think this one was delicious and pretty! 🌸🥣 🍉 #education #equality #womenintech #it #finland #tech

Since I launched workinproduct.se 2 weeks ago, I've gotten a ton of feedback and input from Product friends. Thanks to everyone who's taken time to do that ❤️ It's been super fun being on the other side, getting the feedback instead of giving it. It's also been interesting to see the tendencies we have as Product people when giving feedback. For instance, a common theme of what to improve has been the UX - especially Search & Filter. When you dive into a product (or prototype) to feedback, we product people try the happy flow and try to break it or find some edge cases. Search and Filter is a major part of that experience, because: - There's tone of examples where it's done very well and very poorly - The assumption is that every user uses Search & Filter However, I've forced myself to NOT spend more time on Search & Filter than I already have (which is very little), since: - It's a rabbit hole if I build it myself (very time intensive) - It's expensive if I buy the turnkey functionality for WebFlow - I'm not at the volume of job listings (yet) where it gives good ROI I've had 3 customers so far (🤞 that they get the jobs I helped them find and coached them for), and for them, the Search & Filter experience is irrelevant. They're on workinproduct.se because they want/need a job in Product, and spending a couple of minutes clicking around doesn't make or break the overal customer experience. Especially if they land the job, they'll gladly spend hours with an inefficient product. It's been really refreshing building this platform by myself, because it's really forced me to take a step back from min/maxing and optimising a product, to having a helicopter view of what value I'm aiming to bring with my product and what my customers need. It's also allowed me to test monetisation strategies SUPER rapidly, and I've seen most of them fail within days (halleluja!). I'm very curious to see where the product will be at in 6-12-24 months time!

introducing Unthink, a brand that is representing my #workshop design & facilitation capabilities. Yesterday, we had an opportunity to do short presentation in Norrsken Barcelona at Open Mic, about one of the main things Unthink can do really well, which is workshops for System Innovation, and System Thinking. This is exact presentation we've used, and though it may not be super precise, it shows example of a workshop that anybody, and I mean, ANYBODY can do in their teams, by themselves, with or for their clients. This workshop is designed to help you quickly understand the CONTEXT of whatever you want to using System Thinking principles. How it works? - Sit around in the circle, or get your people on the shared Miro / Figma Figjam, and start 10-60min timer (adjust for how much time you have) - Put stacks of prompt cards in the center (simple questions like "What do you know about XYZ?", "When did you hear about it for the first time?", "What do you think is the overarching goal of XYZ?") - Take turns picking the prompt card, and reading it, and let everybody take physical, or digital post-it notes. - After you are done with the prompt stack, use simple clustering of all post-it notes, to assess your collective intelligence around this specific context, and make further decisions. Now this is only the beginning of system innovation, but an insanely critical one. None of this is complicated, and everything we use in Unthink can be found online. We prototype and ideate some custom workshop ideas, but it's really not a rocket science. With that said - if you'd prefer to save some time, let me know, you may benefit from doing that in your project in a way that's hard to understand unless you have had an opportunity to participate in similar workshops before :) Thanks Norrsken!

Lately I dedicated some extra time to learn more about AI. I have opened my own Pandora's box! From Copilot to ChatGPT, from GPT-4o to Scarlett Johansson drama (https://lnkd.in/g9QnrfXi), this space is captivating, scary and so full of possibilities. The '2024 Work Trend Index Annual Report from Microsoft and LinkedIn' (link in the comments) is a comprehensive report with plenty of details behind its 3 key findings: 1. Employees want AI at work - and they won't wait for companies to catch up. 2. For employees, AI raises the bar and breaks the career ceiling. 3. The rise of the AI power user - and what they reveal about the future. I am not surprised by one insight : "...marketers top the list of members globally adding AI aptitude skills like ChatGPT and Copilot to their LinkedIn profiles." From content creation through to marketing automation or data analytics, marcomms people seem to own the AI space. Keen to hear more opinions on this topic - do you use AI at work? It is now as the last week in the training of "AI coaching for content creators" at Oulu, with 80% of my goals satisfied so far to it. I am interesting currently / mainly to text-content creation by GenAI focused on my exploring the advantages from the input with a longer context length in Kimi AI, as well as GenAIs' further moving if possibly and ideally as Google's new Infini-attention technique: Link 1 - News: Google's new Infini-attention technique lets you input infinite text into LLMs https://lnkd.in/gjpbQYNe Link 2 - Research Paper from Google: Leave No Context Behind: Efficient Infinite Context Transformers with Infini-attention https://lnkd.in/gCFJ4QAn However, Google did not release the models or code, so other researchers have not been able to verify the results. I did try same question to Kimi AI for my previous LinkedIn post (near 40k characters - much less than its limit of 2 million characters) as the input to Google's Gemini AI today ... but too long to fail there. Just same as ChatGPT and MS Copilot tried already in the past! It means to input infinite / longer text into LLMs for Gemin AI now not possible yet ... its productization unfortunately much slower than the research if comparing with Kimi AI. In principle, the input of a longer context length into Kimi AI is already good enough for me now able trying a lot more for the purposes of R&D productization and commercialization! Is it feasible for the users to insert all of applicable documents into the prompt, and then let the GenAI pick the most relevant parts for each query to combine / optimize them together? Is it easier for the users than developing the techniques such as fine-tuning or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) - obviously to require a lot of challenging engineering efforts? Corporate to Nannying + Tutoring? 👩‍💼 -> 🚸 Over the past couple of months, a lot has changed; I graduated, pushed off my corporate job for a year, traveled around Europe, reflected on life, and finally verbalized my long-term passions for storytelling and design. I'm still beyond excited to start my full-time job next summer as a tech associate consultant with PwC. In the meantime, I will continue to work on my design skills using Figma, Spline, and Framer, as well as my writing skills and publications. Proud to say that I took a first big step by creating my own design portfolio website (https://lnkd.in/eaVhs7yV) on Framer! With my diverse background in systems design, product development, and creative storytelling, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to and grow within both PwC and a potential grad degree program. For now, I'm nannying and tutoring to pay my way through a year in Palo Alto (and saving up for my next degree!). 🎓 Nannying and tutoring are far from the corporate path I envisioned after graduation, but these roles have been surprisingly enriching. 💡 Here’s what I’ve learned so far: - Imagination is key: Working with kids has shown me how vital imagination is in fostering curiosity and learning. Storytelling, driven by imagination, sparks children’s curiosity and encourages them to explore and ask questions. Engaging their imagination is crucial. This is why I encourage the children I work with to try writing books with me (even the toddlers who can’t write have loved sticker books and explaining what the stickers are doing). - Despite any challenges, teaching and caring is rewarding: I have worked with infants, toddlers, and schools-aged students; I have swaddled crying infants, changed diapers, played the same run-with-horsie-on-wheels game over and over with toddlers, and faced other new challenges. Despite any challenges, my experiences have been incredibly rewarding, underscoring how critical and undervalued this work is. From swaddling infants to nurturing creativity in older kids, the impact of quality care and education cannot be overstated. 🥇 Fulfilling moments in my roles: - Recently, I’ve had the honor of mentoring students in the Curious Cardinals program, guiding some students to launch their own start-ups. This experience has been a fantastic opportunity for both personal growth and leadership development. - I’ve discovered I’m a “multipotentialite”—bringing together technical skills, mentorship, and creativity in my work. I advocate for pursuing diverse interests, reflecting my own varied career journey. - And of course, seeing the kids I work with smile is the ultimate reward! Every experience is a learning opportunity, and I can't wait to update you on what I learn next! 😄
