Sign up for the EPIC2024 salon "Pathfinding in the Next 20 Years" with Jay Hasbrouck and Laura Brown to discuss the practice of pathfinding research and the ways it might evolve in the next 20 years. The group will begin with a discussion of the practice itself and the various methods and disciplines it currently encompasses. Then, participants will consider potential changes to pathfinding in the context of broader shifts on the horizon (the rise of AI, erosion of trust in institutions, new ways of thinking about embodiment, and attention to new modes of forecasting). Finally, the conversation will turn to discussion topics and industries in which pathfinding has been underutilized, and where it has potential to grow. EPIC Salons are small group discussions that tackle key topics. It aimed to help patients with paralysis communicate by tracking their breathing patterns, though it ultimately did not succeed because of prediction issues.
