Practical preparations for volunteers

Finding your project is just the beginning. There is still a lot of preparation to do before you set off on your adventure. Next steps after you have been selected for a volunteering project:

• Get in touch with ex-volunteers' associations. They can give you an idea of how a project develops, what to expect and how best to prepare.
• Find out about the administrative requirements in both your home country and the country you are going to ( visa, residence permit, health insurance, etc.).
• Participate in the pre-departure training. It is a good opportunity to meet other future volunteers.
• Gather information about the country you are going to. The more you know about where you're going, the better.
