One of the most received feedback during design reviews and discussions in day to day design life. Aka “maza nahi aaya” Very well 👌 explained on how to counter it. One thing to add here would be: - Present any alternatives which were explored to see what changed in the feedback. It also shows flexibility to improve and adapt to feedback.

Someone mentioned to me today how useful my ‘Task-based intranet content: a step by step guide to user-centred design’ was for them in a recent introducing UCD and content design role. That made me happy! The processes described in it work for all content, not just intranets... Some of you might have realized that one of my big passions right now is to help UXers on the job market secure new jobs. Why? Because I care and it pains me to see so many great people struggling. Last week was a fantastic one, because one of my coachees passed all interviews and signed a shiny contract for a great full-time position. Seeing people succeed fulfils me with deep joy, pride and purpose. I might not be able to solve the current situation in the job market, but I can do my part to alleviate it a little. I have received a wonderful recommendation from this coachee, which I am happy to share with you verbatim. 🗽 New Article: A/B Testing and the Two-Party Trap I got a little rant-ish this morning and wrote my weekly blog article 3 days earlier than usual. In it, I’m asking the timely question: Is the “either-or” approach really working? In UX, A/B testing oversimplifies user choices; in politics, the two-party system does the same for voters. #LLMs are full of #UX challenges. These magical things....also frustrate us...because they're so "smart"....and so stupid at the same time. Should we be yelling at the product teams? A notable user experience element I've been thinking about when working with these is whether the LLM understands when I am frustrated - does it realize I'm twisting, turning, and morphing my prompts in a desperate attempt to squeeze out something better? Something more useful? Does it know that I'm struggling? Does it know that I don't know if the problem is that there is no good answer, insight, or better version to be had -- or that it's "user error" because I'm too stupid to speak "prompt" fluently, and don't feel like downloading a bazillion LinkedIN PDF hack sheets on how to game the system? Does it know I'm not a gamer, and having to learn cheat-codes is a tax and not a benefit? This feels like an area that could be improved - understanding intent, rephrasing of questions/prompts, and seeing patterns that suggest "this user is trying to get something out of the system that doesn't exist or cannot be improved upon." It seems LLM #UX could be improved here -- with AI -- because the training data seems to be right there in the prompts. How do you most often feel when you end up down one of these holes? Worthy Read: The Evolution of Miro's User Onboarding by Kyle Poyar and Kate Syuma Miro has gone through quite a transformation since 2017 when Kate Syuma joined as Head of Growth Design. The company has grown from 50 to nearly 1,800 employees, the user base scaled to 18 million, and Kate’s team went from 1 to 11 product and content designers.
