“The best leaders are not coming up with answers, they are coming up with great questions” - says Tim Brown. One of the ways I have started my leadership journey is to rely on two ways to ask questions: 1. HMW - How might we… 2. WWHTBT - What would have to be true… Becoming a question asker is critical to unearthing the potential in your team. #leadership #questions #hmw #strategy

My colleague and I were asked to transform regional leaders who were competing for resources across multiple locations, geographies, and countries into an ‘Enterprise’ Leadership Team, focused on a shared vision, shared goals, and shared resources. We accepted the challenge! By the end of the summer, this team of siloed leaders had fundamentally turned into a united force, making enterprise decisions, sharing talent and other resources across the company, and making decisions and solving industry problems as a true leadership team. Recently, we have been working with a number of clients who present with statements such as this: “We have good skills in each discipline among the executive team, but we are not acting as one team. We are lacking the level of trust and transparency needed to move the business forward.” Whether they know it or not, what they are asking for is a transformation from a traditional Executive Leadership Team to an ‘Enterprise’ Leadership Team. And they have come to the right place! To learn more about the difference between the two and to get a few tips to get you started on your own transformational journey, take a look at our latest article, “Transforming the ELT", linked below: https://lnkd.in/g96yAhRh #enterpriseleadership #leadershipcoaching #leadership

6 Key Practices For Developing Leadership Credits to Paul Byrne, follow him for more insightful content. ------ Here's the original post: Six Creative Leadership Practices January is an ideal moment to pause and reflect on our leadership development journey. There are several good frameworks to help inform our leadership practice. One I find especially useful is from my Leadership Circle colleagues William A. (Bill) Adams and Robert (Bob) J. Anderson, detailed in their book "Mastering Leadership" (specifically Chapter 11). Leadership involves an integration of practices. It's vital to continually refine both our external actions (outer game) and internal beliefs (inner game) to improve our effectiveness. As we enter 2024, reflecting on the areas of our leadership practice that require attention can help accelerate our growth in the coming year. Ask yourself: Is your personal purpose compelling and linked to a clear intention and future vision? Remember, Creative leadership is rooted in purpose. Consider your internal narrative: the story you tell yourself about yourself. Did you discard elements of your “true self” over the years in an attempt fit in or get ahead? What steps are needed to embrace a more integrated and whole personal narrative? Reflect on your readiness to bridge the gap between current abilities and desired growth through courageous dialogue. Remember, there's no risk-free path to greatness. Real growth always comes with risks - that’s just part of the deal. Evaluate how you're designing (or removing) the systems and processes around you to align with the team or organizational vision. Are you walking your talk? Do your actions and behaviors consistently reflect the culture you wish to foster? Mastering these six practices is a lifelong endeavor. The goal isn't to achieve perfection but to commit to an ongoing journey. ------- Follow Business Infographics to learn from the best visuals.

Have you ever pondered on how to construct a powerful, impactful, and cooperative Senior Leadership Team (SLT)? This insightful article sketches out the roadmap to honing an indomitable SLT. It might come as no surprise that building strong SLTs is no cakewalk - they often host an array of strong personalities, and intricate politics and are geographically divergent. Yet, they're the lifeblood of any thriving organization, navigating the future and driving performance. This enlightening piece underscored twelve cardinal elements - the Leadership Operating System (LOS) - that encapsulate the essence of sturdy SLTs. What struck me the most was how it highlighted the role of a CEO in fostering an LOS. Leaders are not just responsible but crucial for its creation and development. The seeds of success lie in a CEO visualizing the team's potential, being a supportive mentor, and a role model of transparency, vulnerability, and dynamic problem-solving. https://lnkd.in/g3fjCaer #TeamBuilding #StrategicLeadership
