#BECCS - a sustainable contribution to permanent #CO2 removal? The German government is preparing the introduction of CO2 removal technologies. Could #bioenergy with CO2 capture and storage (BECCS) play a role in this? Researchers from the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) and DBFZ Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum gemeinnützige GmbH debate this question in their discussion paper. Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) hat dies direkt geteilt
🎉 Surprise! A very special delivery arrived at Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) today! While some eagerly wait for holidays to unwrap gifts, I received a massive package today – or rather: an entire pallet full! 📦✨ Inside these unassuming boxes are countless little, cheerful, and colorful children’s books. Our freshly printed #Pixi books “Fanny, Flo und das Schrumpfabenteuer” ("Fanny, Flo, and the Shrinking Adventure") are here! This unique book uses a fun and magical story to introduce children to topics associated with #CircularEconomy, with a focus on Microbial Biotechnology #MIBITECH. 🌱🧪 As a Communications Assistant for the European project Cell4Chem, I had the chance to suggest this format and am thrilled that the project has come to life. From the first idea to today’s delivery, many months have passed. Holding the result in my hands today is an incredibly special moment! 💚 Stay tuned: Starting Spring 2025, the book will be available free of charge at selected educational institutions – aiming to bring today’s environmental and biotechnology research into the hands and minds of children (and their storytellers!). A contribution to early #STEM education and #intergenerational dialogue. Many thanks to Carlsen Verlag GmbH with Sina Hahnemann, Anke Peterson, Matthias Hoppe and the entire team for this wonderful collaboration! Special thanks to #Cell4Chem project coordinator Heike Sträuber and the colleagues at UFZ for supporting the project! 📦✨ In diesen unscheinbaren Kartons liegen dicht an dicht: viele kleine, fröhlich bunte Kinderbücher.
