LOVE the State of Podcast Agencies 2024 Report by Quill Inc. This is an industry still in its infancy. Downloads remain the dominant metric (sadly) but there are some terrific options available to help us make those metrics more sophisticated. Trackable ROI is one of the biggest challenges but that reinforces the need for Agencies to work with clients from the beginning to establish KPIs for their podcast. Designing a new presentation template for your company to kick off 2025 on the right foot? Here are my top 6 tips: 💡Sit down as a group and outline your top three “meeting types”. Build your slide layouts from that outline. Have more than 3? That’s great. Start with an outline of your most common! 💡Be clear about whether you are building a template for Live Face-To-Face Meetings OR documents you are emailing. They are not the same and should be treated differently. 💡Build a template that encourages good presentation delivery. Things like minimal text, divider slides, keypoint slides, and many visual options encourage your speakers to be the focus of the meeting or event and give them the tools to help increase clarity. If you have a template with a lot of blank space, bullet points, and tiny font, guess what? You'll get presentations with cluttered slides. 💡Test Test Test - Non-standard fonts? Opening presentations in non-PowerPoint software? These can mess up your layouts, so make sure to ask how your users will use the new template and test for each scenario. 💡Eliminate visual clutter. The ideal template helps the audience focus on the main point of the slide. Adding a logo to each slide, fancy frames, taglines...all add mental "decoding time.” Don't worry; if you have a logo on the title slide and one at the end, and you follow a consistent style, your audience won't assume the meeting was suddenly taken over by another company. So, you can cool it on the branding. 💡Anticipate using your slides as a part of your content strategy. More and more folks are recording themselves giving presentations and using it as part of their online content strategy. Websites like Loom.com give you a great video of the speaker hovering over each slide. Think about where that video can fit when you're creating a template. There is a better way to design a presentation template. I call it the DECK way 😉 #presentationskills #marketing #presentationdesign

Media relations may be getting more challenging in some ways – but that may bring about a focus on media outlets that fall 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 the mainstream. And that can benefit B2B companies seeking media coverage. While it’s true that mainstream media outlets continue to lay journalists off, niche and trade publications are growing. Further, journalists at some of these media outlets are searching for 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 sources. I’m hearing stories about how difficult it can be to find and contact an expert source - and how often sources ghost reporters. <𝘨𝘢𝘴𝘱> This equates to MORE opportunities for businesses who want to be featured in trade publications. Add to that AI-driven search, which favors companies that appear in as many publications as possible. It doesn’t matter if the publication is 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 or an industry trade journal. To show up in search, you want to be 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦. Working with B2B clients, I’ve found that trade publications, newsletters and industry association publications are often where their prospective customers are spending time. If these media outlets are looking for sources - and companies are 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 to work with them - it can be a winning formula.
