✨ Grateful and Honored ✨ On Friday, at the Abcom Christmas Luncheon, I was deeply honored to be selected as this year’s Audrey Award recipient. “The Audrey Award recognizes an outstanding commitment and contribution to our industry. The winner is viewed as a role model, an innovator, and most importantly, a leader.” I’ve never been someone entirely comfortable in the spotlight—I’ve always preferred to make my contributions quietly, often working behind the scenes. That’s why this moment is so meaningful. Thank you for seeing me and valuing the work I’ve done. It warms my heart to know that even quieter contributions—those made out of the limelight—can resonate and make a difference. Serving on various boards and committees within our industry has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey (Abcom, NABS, and BBM/Numeris). A particular highlight has been my nearly 20 years with the Abcom Bursary Selection Committee. Witnessing the growth of so many talented individuals through this initiative has been a privilege and a joy. My heartfelt thanks to the Abcom Board for entrusting me with this role for so many years. To the mentors and colleagues who’ve shaped my path: Andeen Pitt, for giving me my first opportunity in media and sharing invaluable life lessons; David Stanger, for mentoring me and believing in my ability to lead the Mediology Network; and to the countless friends and peers who’ve supported me along the way—you’ve all had an immeasurable impact on my life and career. This moment humbles me, and I am profoundly honored. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. 💙 #Gratitude #Leadership #Honored #Mentorship #ThankYou #ABCOM

Our team enjoyed some great food in support of White Spot's Pirate Pak Day. We're so proud to help support White Spot in their goals to raise funds for Zajac ranch (and were excited to eat out of pirate ships again!)

🌟 Wow, what an incredible experience at the Art of Leadership for Women Conferences🌟 Over the last two days, our Calgary and Vancouver teams had the privilege of immersing themselves in the wisdom and inspiration shared by phenomenal speakers like Dr. Roberta Bondar and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau. Their insights have truly left us invigorated and motivated to push boundaries and embrace leadership in new ways. A huge shout-out and heartfelt thanks to our amazing partners at PATTISON Outdoor for hosting us and creating such a dynamic environment for learning and growth. We're excited to carry forward the energy and lessons from this conference as we continue to empower each other and make an impact in our workplaces and communities. Here's to leadership, collaboration, and endless possibilities! 🚀 #ArtOfLeadership #WomenInLeadership #Inspiration #Empowerment #Gratitude

"One of my passions and most treasured roles, is as a Wish Granter for Make-A-Wish. Reviewing the annual impact report, not only evoked a series of emotions, but affirmed the importance of giving back...for finding ways to give of yourself, to have a positive impact on others. I was delighted to be included in this important published piece (Page 16) <3" Sam Richardson, President/CEO, Mediology
2023 was a year of great impact for Make-A-Wish Canada. We granted 1,389 wishes, connecting over 377,000 people and providing moments of strength, hope and joy that resonated throughout communities across Canada. Together we granted 44% more wishes than the previous year! We are pleased to share our 2023 Annual Impact Report on #ChildandYouthMentalHealthDay, highlighting the impact our supporters have had on the health and mental health of children and youth facing critical illnesses. On March 8, International Women’s Day, we would next like to introduce and highlight the resilience of Samantha Richardson’s journey. Samantha is the Co-Founder and President/CEO of the Mediology Network. Sam is proud to lead one of Canada’s largest independent media agencies, a role she started striving for in 1997 when she accepted her first job in the advertising industry as a receptionist. Let’s see what Mediology’s Samantha Richardson has to share this International Women’s Day: “If you knew my roots and the road I traveled as a child and young adult, you might find it hard to reconcile against the person many of you know me to be today. It was not easy. In all honesty, there were times it was simply about survival. As I think about Women’s Day, I have to pause and reflect on the women who heavily influenced me and played an integral role in shaping me into the woman I am today and the dramatic shift I made, from surviving to thriving. It’s ironic that the most influential woman in my story is my mother. A single mom who did not graduate high school, battled poverty, addiction, and mental illness. A woman who at times probably felt worthless, powerless, shame, and ultimately was defeated. She lost her battle against mental illness much too young, and I lost a mother way before I was ready to…I was just 23yrs old, with baby girl myself. A pivotal moment. My mother’s life, and death, served as a catalyst for so many choices I would go on to make in the decades between then and now. As a mom, I was determined to rise and set an example. I strove to stick to my values and bust through barriers. How blessed I was to have so many strong, wise, powerful, and dynamic women put into my path who would guide me, mentor me, inspire me, believe in me, educate me, and teach me to see the potential in myself. Women who supported my pursuit of post-secondary education, encouraging me to enroll in BCIT Marketing Communications where I met the man who would one day ask me to be his “succession plan”. Women who mentored me and provided me guidance on how to break through glass ceilings that can be found in an industry that was so predominantly led by men. Women who affirm my convictions and help me to navigate with an unwavering commitment to my values and ethics in an industry that had a reputation for being unethical and cut-throat. So many women held me up, raised me up, inspired me, saw me, made space for me, and most importantly helped me be the woman that my daughters could look up to. Today, I am so grateful for them all - the strong and the weak, the wise and the inspiring. Each taught me something about myself. I am proud to be who they showed me I could be, and I strive every day to make them proud.” Let us celebrate Samantha Richardson and together work to forge a more inclusive world for women.
