THE GREAT BUREAU BAKE OFF The annual Business Events Perth bake-off took place this week, with team members bringing in a variety of delicious baked treats and spreading festive cheer throughout the office. As part of Business Events Perth's holiday traditions, our annual bake-off invites staff to compete by bringing in homemade sweet or savory goodies over the course of a week. This year’s entries ranged from cheese biscuits, gingerbread men sandwiches to cheesecake, quiches and sausage rolls. Strategic Project Manager, Emily took out first place, with Tabitha coming second and Jana a close third. Australian Business Events Association Conference and Awards 2024 The inaugural Australian Business Events Association Conference was held in Sydney over the past two days. The ABEA Conference works to enhance and secure the role of business events as a vital economic pillar for Australian society. This annual gathering of the business events community provides an opportunity for collaboration and inspiration, nationally. The ABEA Awards were presented at the conference gala dinner last night and Business Events Perth was a finalist in the Service/Supplier Team of the Year award and Best Stand Show Feature or Event Build award. Recognition as finalists showcases the incredible local collaboration and team mentality built in Western Australia. A huge congratulations to all the winners and the other finalists who are paving the way for excellence in the business events industry. Brightest Minds Breakfast 2024 This morning, Business Events Perth recognised the 10 Aspire Award Recipients for the 2024 program at the Old Court House, Fremantle. The 2024 award recipients, applicants, past recipients and partnering organisations joined to acknowledge the research, innovation and trade happening in our incredible State. With such a strong cohort of applicants for the 2024 Aspire Awards Program, we provided 3 early-stage career researchers from Perron Institute, Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, and The Kids Research Institute Australia with additional grants to help them on their professional journey.
