 1st Education Policy of 21st Century


 National Policy on Education 1886, modified in 1992
focused on access and equity.
 2009-Right of Children to Free & Compulsory Education

Development.

•Goal 4 of this Agenda (SDG4) seeks to “ensure inclusive


and equitable quality education and promote lifelong
learning opportunities for all”

So, education needs to shift from content to the following:-

 Inquiry driven
 Discovery oriented
 Learner centred
 Discussion based
 Flexible
 Enjoyable
To develop the full potential of students and produce
well rounded personalities the curriculum should
include:-

 Art
 Craft
 Humanities
 Games and Sports
 Language, Literature and Culture
 Science and Maths
 Ethical Values
 India is emerging as the 3rd Largest economy in the
world

 NEP-2020 address the development imperatives of India


by revamping the structure ,regulation and governance
of education .
• NEP-2020 is guided by the rich heritage of ancient
Indian Knowledge and Thoughts Pursuit of :-
 Jnan (Knowledge)
 Pragya ( Wisdom)
 Satya (Truth )

• Purpose : Complete realization and liberation of self

• Ancient legacy should be researched, enhanced and put


to new use.

 Recognizing and focusing the unique capabilities of each


student.
 Foundational literacy and numeracy by grade 3
 Flexibility and no hard separation
 Multidisciplinary and holistic education
 Creativity and critical thinking
