4.2 - Objectives
• Evaluate trigonometric functions using the unit circle
• Use the domain and period to evaluate sine and cosine functions
• Learn how to take effective notes to communicate math.

Periodic Behavior

2𝜋𝜋 is the period of sine and cosine functions.


Adding or subtracting multiples of 2𝜋𝜋 creates
coterminal angles and their sine/cosine values
are the same.
Unit Circle
Draw a 120° angle in standard position.
Draw a −30° angle in standard position.

Find one positive and one negative coterminal angles


for 120°

Convert 120° to radians.
