Exploring Factors Affecting

Student Performance
About Data
The Student Performance Dataset is a
dataset designed to examine the factors
influencing academic student performance.
The dataset consists of 50 student records,
with each record containing information
about various predictors and a performance
index.
Objectives
of study
1. To check the significance of The total number of
hours spent studying by each student

2. To check the significance of The average number

of hours of sleep the student had per day.

3. To check the significance of The number of sample

question papers the student practiced.

Simple Linear
Regression Model

Only one independent variable, x

Relationship between x and y is described by a
linear function
Changes in y are assumed to be caused
by changes in x

Multiple Linear
Regression Model

It refers to a statistical technique that uses two or more

independent variables to predict the outcome of a dependent
variable.
The technique enables analysts to determine the variation of the
model and the relative contribution of each independent
variable in the total variance.

Significance

As the P-value is (9.04944E-42) < 0.05

therefore we can say that oue multiple linear
regression model is siginificance.
Conclusion
1. Performance Index does not depend on
Extracurricular Activities. Therefore
students should involve in such activities
which help to improve their skill set.
2. Student should also give more time to
studies to improve their proformance
index
3. Student can give little more time to rest.
As it will result in increase in their efficiency
4. Practicing sample papers improves
performance index
