Homework so designed by the mentors of the school is a medium for you all to
achieve the motto of “Fun and Learn”
The activity based assignments will foster curiosity, develop creativity, enhance
knowledge and install the joy of learning among you all. They will certainly help
you discover a new you who is more enriched and confident and performs every
action to perfection.

desires you to adhere to the following guidelines for a fulfilling break:

REMEMBER
 Neatness and presentation are common parameters for most of the activities
assigned. Please maintain the quality of work done.
 Complete and submit the holiday homework according to the dates given. Note
down these dates carefully as late submission after these dates is not acceptable
and you will be losing the marks/grades for the same if you miss the date.
 Holiday homework will be assessed on certain parameters and marks/grade will be
awarded accordingly.
 Make sure that all syllabus done till May must be revised thoroughly.

HEALTHY LIFESTYLE BE YOUR PRIORITY


 Give prime importance to your health. Eat lots of fruits, do exercise and get into
yoga
 Pledge for “Eat Right -Less Sugar, Less Oil and Less Salt”
• Wash hands frequently, especially before and after meal.
• Avoid sharing of towel, handkerchief, brush with others.
• Trim off the nails and hair regularly.
• Drink a lot of liquid like water and other natural sources of water like tender
coconutwater, aam panna , lime water, Buttermilk etc.

REQUEST TO PARENTS
Summer vacation time is an opportunity to spend the quality time with your child and
make him/her feel special of his unique identity.
So just spare sometime and do the following:
 As parents and teachers, we understand the importance of developing the habit of
eating healthy food. This is the best time when children can enjoy the healthy
food with the family. As you are aware that our students enjoy the Fruit break in
the beginning of the day on daily basis in the school, during holidays also we
want them to follow the same habit at home.
 Let your child watch some entertaining educational TV shows such as discovery
kids, animal planet and make the learning interesting.

• Engage them to learn music/dance/theatre/ any other dance form to bring


them close to India’s Art & Culture.
• Talk about Omni presence of God and humility being developed with regular
prayers and doing good deeds as to offer best prayer to the God. Take them some
religious places.
• Let them feed the poor and share things with needy people with love, let them
enjoythe Art of Giving.
• Visit at least one out of these “Orphanage, Old age home, Blind home” etc.
Such activities will help the child to grow with love and humility.
• Watch some good movies with your ward on love, compassion, humanity, kindness,
forgiveness etc.
• Talk about the importance of parents and elders. Have at least 4-5 meals
together.

1. Underground water sump is popular in India. It is usually used for large water sump
storage and can be built cheaply using cement-like materials. Underground water
sump are typically chosen by people who want to save space. The water in the
underground sump is not affected by extreme weather conditions. The underground
sump maintain cool temperatures in both winter and summer. A builder wants to
build a sump to store water in an apartment. The volume of the rectangular sump
willbe modelled by 𝑉(𝑥) = 𝑥3 + 𝑥2 − 4𝑥 − 4.
a. He planned in such a way that its base dimensions are (𝑥 + 1) and (𝑥 + 2 ). How
much he has to dig ?
b. If 𝑥 = 4 meter, what is the volume of the sump?
c. If 𝑥 = 4 and the builder wants to paint the entire inner portion on the sump, what
is the total area to be painted ?
d. If the cost of paint is ₹25/ per square metre, what is the cost of painting ?

2. Parabolas are frequently used in physics and engineering for things such as the design of
automobile headlight reflectors and the paths of ballistic missiles.
The equation of the form 𝑦 = 𝑎𝑥2 + 𝑏𝑥 + 𝑐 represents a parabola. But the equation for a
parabolacan also be written in "vertex form": 𝑦 − 𝑘 = 𝑎(𝑥 − ℎ)2
In this equation, the vertex of the parabola is the point (h, k).

a. Find the vertex of the parabola 𝑦 = 3𝑥2 + 12𝑥 − 12.


b. In which quadrant does the vertex of the parabola 𝑦 = 3𝑥2 + 12𝑥 − 12 lie?

3. Read the following and answer the questions based on this information.
A book store shopkeeper provides books on rent for reading. He has variety of books in his
store related to fiction, stories and quizzes etcetera. He charges a fixed amount for first
two days and an additional charge for subsequent day. Pallavi paid ₹22 for a book which
she kept for 6 days; while Kartik paid ₹16 and used the book for 4 days.

Assume that the fixed charges be ₹𝑥 and additional charges per day
be ₹y.Based on the above information answer the following
questions.
a. What is the amount paid by a student, if he keeps a book for 10 days?
b. What is the fixed amount for first two days?
c. What is the amount charged per day after first two days?
d. student paid an amount of ₹37, then for how many days he kept the book with him?
4. Mohita has a box of coloured pens. She takes a pen from the box. The probability that she
takes a red pen is 0.4. If the box contains total 50 pens of blue, green and red colour and
there are 15 blue pens and 15 green pens, then find:
a. the probability that she does not take red pen.
b. the number of red pens in the box .
c. the probability of drawing a blue pen.
d. the probability of taking a blue or green pen.

5. Vijaya wants to participate in a 200 m race. She can currently cover that distance in 51
seconds.She wants to cover it in 31 seconds. With each day of practice, it takes her 2
seconds less.
a. Write the AP representing the situation.
b. Write the expression for nth term of the AP.
c. Write the expression for sum of n terms of the AP.
d. What is the minimum number of days she needs to practice to achieve her goal?

Purpose: Understanding how to narrow down to a problem statement from abroad theme.

Say: “Let us now start with the first stage of AI Project Cycle that is – ProblemScoping!

Brief: Select a theme either out of those mentioned in the picture below or fromanywhere
outside. They will then look inside the theme and find out topics where problems exist. They
need to understand the vastness of a themebecause of which one needs to go deeper. After

Activity - 02
Understanding the working and execution of the AI task domain of “Data Acquisition”.

There are17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which we have to achieve by 2030. It is necessary to achieve
these goals, as they will make the world a better place to live. Let us play a game “GO GOALS” based on this:

Before playing the game, you must have the following:


 Game rules
 Board Game
 Dice and tokens
 Question sheets (containing five sets of MCQs)

Rules and Procedure:

 There are tokens for each player


 To start a game, one player has to throw a dice, and according to the number that appears on the dice
player will move on the board.
 If the ladder comes, then the token will climb the ladder.
 In case the waterslide comes, the player has to move to the bottom of the slide.
 If the token reaches to any of the SDGs, hen the question will be asked from the multiple-choice
questions sheet.
 If the player gives the correct answer, then he/she will get another chance to throw the dice.
 The token which reaches 2030 first is the winner.

Steps to Install and conduct the game:
