Due to the advancement of technology in education, the power and trend of various digital
tools make students engaged in the lesson. It has also been a great help for the teachers to
facilitate and present the lesson in ways that are easily understood and interesting to the
learners. Digital tools take the form of coursewares, games, and presentations. At present,
these technologies are playing an important role in delivering and engaging classroom
instruction online in the midst of the pandemic.
Digital tools help students communicate and share their insights and learnings successfully
through the use of various presentation tools. In fact, one of the previous lessons taught
you to explore different presentation softwares and how to create engaging presentations.

We cannot deny the fact that Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides are the popular tools
in creating a presentation. However, there are other options if you need to create an
engaging and informative presentation other than the tools mentioned. In this lesson, you
will explore and learn other presentation tools that are available online. This lesson will help
you utilize alternative tools that offer better features in creating a presentation.
Have you ever created a presentation that goes beyond a simple presentation? Are you

Have you encountered designs that are simple yet pleasing to the eyes? This is one of the
popular design styles called minimalism. At present, you can see it almost everywhere - in
architecture and interior designs, digital artworks, infographics, social media posts,
presentations, and websites.
Search online for examples of minimalist design in digital presentations that you find
appealing. You may check one example below.

Different Online Presentation Tools
There are a lot of online presentation tools available that offer a variety of tools and
powerful features. However, some platforms have the capability to not just create
presentations but also to add rich multimedia contents to make the presentation more
beautiful, engaging, and interactive. Some of the online presentation tools are explained
below:

Adobe Spark
Adobe Spark is a web-based application developed by Adobe. It is a presentation tool that
allows users to put all types of interactive and multimedia content in the form of a web page
where you can create your own digital portfolio and storytelling. Aside from that, you can
also create social media posts and simple or animated videos which you can include to your
presentation.

Canva
Canva is a graphic design platform that provides a drag and drop presentation tool which
enables users to utilize various animations, colors, fonts, images, layout, and even free stock
photos. Hence, Canva is not just a platform for creating presentations, you can also use this
tool for creating logos, digital posters, infographics, certificates, invitations, and social media
posts. However, you need to purchase a subscription if you want to access its premium
features.

Genially
Genially is the all-in-one tool for creating engaging and stunning presentations. This
platform allows users to add interactive animation and effects in their presentations. They
can also integrate various external web applications such as Google Maps, Youtube, Spotify,
etc. This tool is efficient in creating any type of interactive visual content such as games,
interactive images, infographics, video presentations, and a lot more with various templates
to choose from. You can also share your works on social networks, embed it on a website,
or download it to view offline.

AniMaker
Animaker is a web-based platform that allows users to create do-it-yourself (DIY) animated
videos ranging from business, infographics, marketing, and personal use. This online
presentation tool is user-friendly and allows users to create one without prior knowledge in
animation. In fact, it contains simple yet powerful drag and drop tools and user-friendly
interface to easily edit and produce animated videos.

Powtoon
Similar to Animaker, Powtoon is an online presentation tool that allows users to create
engaging and interactive presentations in the form of animated clips. It offers basic drag
and drop tools to create any kind of informative animated content. You can share your
powtoon content with others on a social media platform or any website. However, you can
only collaborate with others by sending the template to another user as it does not allow
multiple users to do real-time editing.

Microsoft Sway
Microsoft Sway is an online presentation program from Microsoft Office. It was introduced
in August 2015 as an alternative to Microsoft PowerPoint. This tool enables users to create
and share interactive presentations and reports, and allows them to import audio
recordings, narrations, external applications, and other relevant content. You may find it
similar to Adobe Spark because you can create a presentation in the form of a website. You
are required to create a Microsoft Account to access this tool for free.

Choosing the right online presentation tool may depend on what kind of presentation the
user intends to create and there are various platforms you can use online. Here are some
features that may help you decide the appropriate tool in creating your presentation.
Online Sharing
This feature allows a presentation to be shared in various online platforms such as on a
website, social media platform, or any external web application. All online presentation tools
often have this common feature.
Real-Time Collaboration
Real-Time collaboration is crucial when working in a team environment. It allows every
member of the group to edit, comment, and to share the presentation simultaneously. In
fact, website creation platforms use this feature to invite other editors in helping to build it
faster.
Creative Design Tools
This is one of the features to consider when deciding an online presentation tool to use. It
should offer a variety of creative design tools such as animation, fonts, icons, images, sound
effects, videos, and other relevant content to create an engaging and interactive
presentation. In this way, you can easily grab the attention and interest of your audience.
